7 Creative Ways Square Sellers Are Using App Marketplace Integrations to Streamline Business

Like most things, businesses require a strong team to operate. A cohesive staff with diverse functions, a band of offerings and services that complement each other, and, most importantly, a strong team of tools and integrations that support various business needs are essential.

No matter the industry, marketplaces like the Square App Marketplace make it easy for businesses of all sizes to manage a range of tasks, including accounting, shipping, event management, and more. With over 100 available integrations, the Square App Marketplace can be especially helpful for businesses looking to broaden their reach with customers and expand overall. In fact, businesses powered by Square that use the Square App Marketplace are on average three times larger than those that don’t.

Here are six integrations businesses powered by Square use to help manage their operations.

QuickBooks

Accounting can often be a chore for business owners, but with QuickBooks it can become a bit easier. Businesses like Costa Oil, an oil change franchise with over 50 stores across the U.S., rely on the QuickBooks integration with Square to manage the accounting needs of every single franchise.

“The two things that we mandate in our franchise system are Square Payroll and QuickBooks online. One of the reasons that we mandate those two things is because that’s what we’ve used at the corporate level for so long. So if a franchise needs to call me up and say, ‘Hey, I’m having this issue with this product or this software,’ generally speaking, I could probably walk them through it. If I don’t know the answer, I can reach out to who I know will have the answer,” said Brandon Cornelius, COO of Costa Oil.

Shippo

With online shopping becoming more commonplace, shipping options are becoming a must for businesses big and small. Whether you’re tackling shipping for the first time or looking to expand your shipping options, partners like Shippo are a trusted option for businesses that use Square. Shippo offers access to over 40 delivery partners worldwide and end-to-end service, taking a load off your plate and giving you time back in your day.

“We release merch. We have a new shirt coming out, we’ll put that on Square Online and then it’s hooked up to Shippo. So now we even know how to ship stuff,” said Kenzie Benesh, co-owner of Yo Tambien Cantina.

DoorDash

DoorDash isn’t just a major player in the food space. Businesses of all kinds now rely on DoorDash to deliver a number of goods, including groceries and retail items, to customers with ease and speed. Photodom, a camera store and shop in Brooklyn, NY, uses DoorDash to help connect its customers with the items they need in a flash.

“DoorDash is another big one that we use for sending out orders quickly. If someone wants to get a battery or film immediately for a set, they can do that using DoorDash through our Square integration,” said Dominick Lewis, owner of Photodom.

Faire

Faire, an online wholesale marketplace, is ideal for retailers or businesses with diversified offerings looking to find unique items to sell to their customers. The first of its kind to offer returns, Faire is preferred by businesses because it offers the flexibility to keep what customers enjoy and return the items that didn’t connect with the audience.

“As soon as I order something on Faire, it’s automatically in my Square for Retail system. That’s number one for me because I don’t even have to tell Square that it’s coming in. It’s creating those items for me. I might have to go in and edit them on a detailed level, but they’re in the system,” explained Leah Donahue , owner of Brigid & Bess in Charlottesville, VA.

Deliverect

Deliverect simplifies online order management by allowing you to centralize orders in one place. With orders often coming from a number of places, including Uber Eats, your online website, and more, it can be a heavy lift keeping track of everything without compromising speed and customer satisfaction. Torch Pressed Sushi, a restaurant with locations in Ontario, integrates Square for Restaurants with Deliverect to streamline operations.

“We also use Deliverect to pull our UberEats orders into our POS automatically. Having everything in one ecosystem makes everything so seamless. I can see how each store is doing compared to last week, 24/7. I can update the website, and staff can quickly enter dine-in orders and see table seating with Square for Restaurants,” said Curtis Lau, CEO of Torch Pressed Sushi.

WooCommerce

Although Square Online powers thousands of businesses that start with or switch to Square, some have legacy, custom-built websites that they prefer to keep separate. WooCommerce is an integration available through the App Marketplace that is especially beneficial for businesses that move to Square because the setup process is relatively painless.

“We use a couple of different third-party integrations that work perfectly with Square, one of the main ones being WooCommerce. Because I built the website through WordPress, the WooCommerce integration with Square is really simple because everything is just a plug-in that you download,” said Dominick Lewis, owner of Photodom.

Square also has integrations with Wix for businesses interested in other eCommerce options.
