The Square App Marketplace is a platform for sellers to connect to third-party tools that make it easier to run your business. Our more than 100 integrations (and counting) help sellers handle everything from employee and inventory management to taxes and accounting to building a beautiful online store.
While App Marketplace can help businesses of all sizes, the majority of sellers who use it are larger businesses with growing needs. In fact, Square sellers who use App Marketplace are on average three times larger than those who don’t. (Square sellers can go directly into their Dashboard to connect.)
We’ve been so impressed with how Square sellers and our partners have used App Marketplace. Here are some of the more creative ways businesses have put it to use:
1. Spend less time accounting (and more time on your farm)
Bloom Wild sells handmade goat’s milk soap, and with the QuickBooks integration, it can now spend time tending to its goat herd instead of tending to its accounting. And in Japan, integrations like freee help sellers take care of their accounting needs, too.
2. Run your business from anywhere in the world
Square sellers in India track inventory with our Shopventory integration, and businesses in Australia can send orders back to the kitchen easily via Fresh KDS, an integration built just for Square sellers. Shrimp on the barbie, anyone?
3. Automatically flash your store lights when you make a big sale
Want the lights in your store to flash when you make a big sale? Get a text alert every time a high transaction is made? IFTTT integrates with Square to allow you to use transactions to trigger actions on other services, like those flashing lights and text alerts.
4. Sell anything (even mini pigs) to customers online
Sandra Westgate, owner of Majestic Mini Pigs, sells mini pigs (yep, they’re a real thing) through our integration with the website builder Weebly. Integrations with Weebly, BigCommerce, and Ecwid make it easier for omnichannel businesses to sell offline and online and have all their sales right in one place.
5. Build your very own digital display menu
Adrian Kalaveshi, owner of Clandestine Brewing in San Jose, California, was using a chalkboard to list the types of beer he offered. Now, thanks to Square’s APIs, he’s developed a digital display system for his constantly changing beer list. Hs taplist site pulls all its data directly from Square, and if prices change, it’s updated in real time.
6. Offer next-day shipping, anywhere in the country
ShipStation allows businesses to send automatic, next-day shipping, even if you’re a seller shipping from Alabama to Alaska.
7. Never run out of bacon for your burgers again
With MarketMan, you can track inventory and cost items at the ingredient level. You never have to worry about selling a burger without bacon again. Even better, you can see real-time food cost and wastage data.
