Being a successful entrepreneur requires a certain audacity. At Square, we hear inspiring stories of brassy, audacious small businesses every day. Stories of extreme perseverance, of turning a seedling vision into a thriving reality. But some of these stories simply stand out. So we’ve decided to recognize these sellers.
We’re excited to announce that Square’s first-ever business awards, The BRASSYs, is now open for entry. We want to celebrate innovative entrepreneurs who have turned a business idea into a livelihood.
Brassy means “shamelessly bold” — and that’s what the best business are. The BRASSYs aim to honor those business who exemplify best-in-class quality, innovation, and community support.
Five BRASSY winners will be hosted at a special one-day Seller Summit at Square HQ in San Francisco, where they’ll receive one-on-one mentorship from our panel of business luminaries. Additionally, each winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize, Square products, a Business Power Pack worth $2,500 from our partners including Twitter, Google Ads, Indeed, Magisto, Avvo, and Vistaprint — and more.
Plus, winners will be selected by our panel of industry leaders who will be on-site for the Seller Summit. They’ll share their personal experiences and lessons learned while building their extraordinary businesses and careers.
This year, The BRASSYs panel includes Girls Who Code Founder and CEO, Reshma Saujani, and Roy Choi, who was named one of Time magazine’s 2016 “100 Most Influential People” in the World.
