Donnie McClanahan: Without Square AI, I wouldn't know what I'm missing in my business to make it better.
Hello, Donnie McClanahan, I run five different cafés in Knoxville, Tennessee area, and have an amazing staff that makes why I come to work everyday better than anything I've done in the last decade.
One of the most valuable things that Square AI has done for me is to help me avoid making a bad decision. When you're optimizing a restaurant, you're constantly looking at your menu asking, "what can I trim?" I use Square AI to compare the item sales across locations. I actually had a wrap that was selling for more at another store and selling quite well. I was going to cut something that was actually good off my menu that I really needed to double down on.
Square AI has really helped me in labor efficiency. It let me see that I could actually push back opening at one store about 30 minutes. That's a small change, but it saves me 2 to 3 hours of labor every single day with zero impact on service. It does a lot of the math behind the scenes. "What did I spend on payroll last month? By location? How much of that payroll was overtime?" So not only was it giving me almost a custom report. I'm talking to my data asking it what I need to look at, and it's saying, hey, you're spending too much money on overtime. So now I can focus on figuring out my schedules, where I need to adjust that so that it's optimal for not only my staff, but for my customers.
With Square AI, what it frees me up to do is the things that I want to do. I get to really enjoy having more time with my customers every day because I'm not in the back in the office.
