What payment methods are supported by Square POS?
Square works with any U.S.-issued and most internationally issued magstripe or chip cards bearing a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or UnionPay logo. Square also supports digital payments through wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay (including taking payments with just your phone).
In addition to traditional payment methods, Square offers Afterpay for customers looking to spend between $1 and $2,000 for purchases online via Square Online or in person via Square hardware.
How can I switch from my current booking solution?
You can bulk your customer and inventory lists to Square and get up and running quickly. If you currently use Acuity, Booker, Fresha, Vagaro, or another booking software or salon solution, Square will likely fit more of your needs with our easy-to-use interface. If you already have a website, it’s easy to transfer your existing domain to Square Online.
How does Square manage tipping for my nail technicians?
Square offers a variety of options for customers to select a tip for their nail technician through the Square POS.
After customizing the settings, a tipping screen will appear during the checkout process. The screen will prompt customers to add a tip to their service.
Tips can be calculated as a set rate or a percentage of the transaction. Additionally, customers can turn on custom tipping, if preferable.
Can I book appointments and take payments from my website?
Yes. With Square, you can create an online booking website for your nail salon business or embed a booking widget or button on your existing website.
