Artificial intelligence has become one of the biggest buzzwords in business. And it hasn’t spared the food and beverage industry. The AI in food and beverage market size is estimated at 9.68 billion USD today, according to Research and Markets data. It’s estimated to reach 48.99 billion USD by 2029, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 38%. What’s the cause of all this growth? Data-driven decision-making is one major driver, whether navigating changes the supply chain or consumer behavior. 

Square partnered with Industry Dive to survey 305 mostly table-service restaurants about using AI in their business and their anticipation for the future. More than half (56%) of respondents said they are very or extremely excited about the future of AI in their business.
