Customer engagement tools are available to all Square sellers to help you engage with new or existing customers. We also offer a set of advanced tools at a monthly rate with Square Marketing and Square Loyalty. Watch the video below to learn more about Square’s Customer Engagement:
Free Customer Engagement Features
All Square sellers have access to the following tools:
|Private message your customers when they leave feedback or send your customers in-message coupons.
|Create, import, and manage customer profiles. Save payment cards on file, view Loyalty and Square Marketing activity, view and respond to Feedback from customers, and create groups to keep your customer profiles organized. You can also apply filters to view detailed customer information such as items purchased, payment amounts, locations visited, and others over a specific time frame.
|Customer Sign Ups
|Grow your marketing audience with tools that let customers sign up and subscribe to your mailing list.
|Statistics on customer satisfaction, new vs. returning customers, and customer visit frequency.
|Customer profiles that include a full activity list with transaction history, average purchase size, details and statistics. When this feature is enabled, you are responsible for complying with applicable privacy laws, including maintaining a customer-facing privacy notice regarding the collection and use of your customers’ data. You may elect to turn this feature on or off at any time. When processing customer data, please make sure that you follow all applicable privacy laws.
Square Marketing Features
Square Marketing comes with a free 30-day trial. After your free trial, the subscription starts at $15 per month. To send email campaigns to smaller audiences, or on an occasional basis, you may opt to pay-as-you-go for 10¢ per email sent. Other features include:
|Send unlimited marketing emails with customizable templates.
|Automated Email Campaigns
|After a one-time setup, automatically send your customers a welcome email, a coupon on their birthday, or reminders to come back in.
|Target your customers
|Set up automatic smart groups so that the right audience can receive the right message to maximize your sales. Use the Email Subscribers and Text Subscribers smart groups and filter your Marketing Subscribers through your Customer Directory.
|View your results and sales
|See in-depth reporting for every single campaign.
|Add Facebook to your Campaigns
|Link your Facebook account to share your campaign on social pages as well. You can even boost your posts right from Square Marketing.
|Share rewards via Facebook with your customers and fans, letting them spread the word.
|Collect customer birthdays, and send automatic coupons to delight them on their special day.
|Request Google Reviews
|Set up Google Business Profile with your Square account and create automated email and text message campaigns so you can request Google Reviews and drive new customer acquisition and sales. Learn more about Google Review automation campaigns.
Important to note
Customers in your directory will be considered subscribed if they have a public email address (i.e. the email address was manually entered into the customer’s profile) that has not bounced or been manually unsubscribed. Customers with a private email address (i.e. not visible) and have made 1 or more payments in the last 12 months with your business will also be considered subscribed.
When a customer’s email address is unsubscribed or bounces, the email address will not be removed from your directory, but it will no longer be included in your Marketing filters and smart groups.
Square Marketing subscription pricing is based on the number of subscribed contacts stored in your Customer Directory. If you use Square Appointments, your client list will be automatically merged with your Customer Directory, which may cause your subscription pricing to increase.
