Square Go Terms of Service
Effective date: July 21, 2023
The Square Go Terms of Use (“Square Go Terms” or “Terms”) is a legal agreement between you (“you,” “your”) and Block, Inc. formerly known as Square, Inc. (“we,” “our,” “us,” “Square”) governing your use of the Square Go services offered through mobile applications (the “App”) and any Square Go websites (the “Website”) (collectively, “Square Go”).
By using Square Go, you agree to be bound by these Square Go Terms, the E-Sign Consent Terms, the Privacy Notice for Square Buyer Services, and the Square Buyer Account Terms of Use (the “Agreement”), which contains terms that limit our liability (see Section 14), and terms regarding individual arbitration for potential legal disputes (see Section 17). To use Square Go, you must accept all of the terms of this Agreement.
Complaints related to Square Go should be submitted to go-research@squareup.com@squareup.com.
1. Your Participation in Square Go
Square Go is intended to provide you with appointment booking services for certain Square sellers located in the United States (“Seller” or “Sellers”) through a mobile application and website. By using Square Go, you can search for and find Sellers offering relevant services by searching a Sellers’ business name, services, or location. You can also receive recommendations for services offered by certain Sellers we may find relevant to you based on your preferences, booking activity, and interests. You can also complete the booking of an appointment for services with certain Sellers on Square Go.
To use Square Go, you must download the mobile application and you will be required to register a Square Buyer Account directly with Square or log in to an existing account (a “Square Buyer Account”). During registration we will ask you for information, which may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, text-enabled mobile phone number, and zip code (“Square Buyer Account Information”). Once your Square Buyer Account is registered, you will be able to access the Square Go features, including searching Sellers offering relevant services, receiving recommendations of Sellers offering relevant services, and booking appointments with those Sellers. Your Square Buyer Account also enables access to any of Square’s other Buyer Services. To learn more about your Square Buyer Account and the Square Buyer Services, please refer to the Square Buyer Account Terms of Use available here.
We make no representations or warranties, express or implied, relating to any of the products or services provided by any Seller. Sellers are the sellers of all products and services made available through Square Go and Sellers are solely responsible to you for the care, quality, and delivery of the goods and services that they provide.
2. Revisions, Disclosures, and Notices
We may amend the Square Go Terms at any time with notice that we deem to be reasonable under the circumstances by posting the revised version on our Website (a “Revised Version”). The Revised Version will be effective as of the time it is posted, but will not apply retroactively. Your continued use of Square Go after the posting of a Revised Version constitutes your acceptance of such Revised Version. Any dispute that arose before the Revised Version is posted will be governed by the Square Go Terms in place when the dispute arose.
You agree to Square’s E-Sign Consent. We may provide disclosures and notices required by law and other information about your Square Buyer Account and/or your use of the Square Go Services to you electronically, by posting it on our website, pushing notifications through the Buyer Services, or by emailing it to the email address listed in your Square Buyer Account or that you otherwise provided to Square. Electronic disclosures and notices have the same meaning and effect as if we had provided you with paper copies. Such disclosures and notices are considered received by you within twenty-four (24) hours of the time posted to our website, or within twenty-four (24) hours of the time emailed to you unless we receive notice that the email was not delivered. If you wish to withdraw your consent to receiving electronic communications, contact Square Support. If we are not able to support your request, you may need to terminate your use of the Square Go Services and/or your Square Buyer Account.
3. Permitted Uses
You may only use the Square Go Services consistent with these Terms and for your own personal use.
You may not, nor may you permit any third party to do any of the following: (i) access or monitor any material or information on any Square system using any manual process or robot, spider, scraper, or other automated means unless you have separately executed a written agreement with Square; (ii) copy, reproduce, alter, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, republish, upload, post, transmit, resell, or distribute in any way material or information from Square; (iii) transfer any rights granted to you under this Agreement; (iv) violate any restrictions on the use of robots through any work-around, bypassing, or circumvention any of the technical limitations of the app or website(s), use any tool to enable features or functionalities that are otherwise disabled in the app or website(s), or decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse engineer any part of the app or website(s), except to the extent that such restriction is expressly prohibited by law; (v) perform or attempt to perform any actions that would interfere with the proper working of the app or website(s), prevent access to or use of the app or website(s) by other users of Square Go, or impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure; or (vi) otherwise use Square Go except as expressly allowed under this Agreement.
4. Ownership
Square reserves all rights not expressly granted to you in this Agreement. Square owns the title, copyright, and other worldwide Intellectual Property Rights (as defined below) in the App and Website and all copies of the App and Website. This Agreement does not grant you any rights to Square’s trademarks or service marks.
For the purposes of this Agreement, “Intellectual Property Rights” means all patent rights, copyright rights, mask work rights, moral rights, rights of publicity, trademark, trade dress and service mark rights, goodwill, trade secret rights, and other intellectual property rights as may now exist or hereafter come into existence, and all applications therefor and registrations, renewals, and extensions thereof, under the laws of any state, country, territory, or other jurisdiction.
Other marks on Square Go not owned by Square may be under license from the trademark owner thereof, in which case such license is for the exclusive benefit and use of Square unless otherwise stated, or may be the property of their respective owners. This Agreement does not grant you any rights to any trademarks or service marks on Square Go.
You may choose to or we may invite you to submit comments or ideas about Square Go, including without limitation about how to improve Square Go or our other products (“Ideas”). By submitting any Idea, you agree that your disclosure is gratuitous, unsolicited, and without restriction, that it will not place Square under any fiduciary or other obligation, and that we are free to use the Idea without any additional compensation to you and/or to disclose the Idea on a non-confidential basis or otherwise to anyone. You further acknowledge that, by acceptance of your submission, Square does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas previously known to Square, or developed by its employees, or obtained from sources other than you.
5. Privacy
Your Personal Information: By using Square Go, you acknowledge our data practices that apply to you, as set out in the Privacy Notice for Square Buyer Services (the “Privacy Notice”). The Privacy Notice explains how Square collects, uses and protects the personal information you provide to us where Square makes use of your personal data to provide you with Square Go services or for its own purposes. You are required to familiarize yourself with the Privacy Notice prior to using Square Go.
6. Security
We have implemented technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental destruction, loss, alteration and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. You provide your personal information at your own risk.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your password and for restricting access to Square Go from your compatible mobile devices and computer(s). You will immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your password or Square Buyer account, access to all the Square Go Services, or any other breach of security. You will immediately take all reasonable steps to mitigate the effects of a security breach and will cooperate with Square and provide all information requested by Square to remediate the breach. Any assistance provided by Square in relation to a security breach does not in any way operate as acceptance or acknowledgement that Square is in any way responsible or liable to you or any other party in connection with such breach.
In the event of any dispute between two or more parties as to account ownership, we will be the sole arbiter of such dispute in our sole discretion. Our decision (which may include termination or suspension of any Square Buyer Account and/or access to the Square Go Services subject to dispute) will be final and binding on all parties.

Such communications may include, but are not limited to requests for secondary authentication, receipts, reminders, notifications regarding updates to your account or account support, and marketing or promotional communications. You acknowledge that you are not required to consent to receive promotional texts or calls as a condition of using Square Go. Call and text message communications may be generated by automatic telephone dialing systems. Standard message and data rates applied by your cell phone carrier may apply to the text messages we send you.
You may opt-out of receiving promotional email communications we send to you by following the unsubscribe options on such emails. You may opt out of any promotional phone calls by informing the caller that you would not like to receive future promotional calls. You may only opt-out of text messages from Square by replying STOP. You acknowledge that opting out of receiving communications may impact your use of the Services.
11. Modification and Termination
We can restrict, terminate or deny you access to Square Go services at any time, for any reason. You can also choose to deactivate your account at any time.
We may terminate these Square Go Terms, or suspend or terminate your Square Buyer Account and/or access to the Square Go Services, at any time for any reason. We may add or remove, suspend, stop, delete, discontinue or impose conditions on Square Go services or any feature or aspect of Square Go. We will take reasonable steps to notify you of termination or these other types of service changes by email or at the next time you attempt to access the Square Go Services. Notwithstanding the Survival terms in Section 18 below, you may also terminate the Square Go Terms by deleting your Square Buyer Account at any time.
12. Effect of Termination
Once our relationship ends, we are not responsible for any losses you experience because of the termination of our services or for removing your data from our servers. Some terms of our agreement will still apply even after our relationship ends.
If these Square Go Terms or your access to the Square Go Services is terminated or suspended for any reason: (a) the license and any other rights granted under these Square Go Terms will end, (b) you agree to immediately terminate and cease use of Square Go, (c) we may (but have no obligation to) delete your information and account data stored on our servers, and (d) we will not be liable to you or any third party for compensation, reimbursement, or damages for any termination or suspension of the Square Go services, or for deletion of your information or account data.
13. Right to Amend
We have the right to change or add to the terms of this Agreement at any time, and to change, delete, discontinue, or impose conditions on any feature or aspect of Square Go with notice that we in our sole discretion deem to be reasonable in the circumstances, including such notice in the App, or on any other website maintained or owned by us for the purposes of providing services governed by this Agreement. Any use of Square Go after our publication of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of this Agreement as modified. However, any Dispute that arose before the modification shall be governed by the Agreement (including the binding individual arbitration clause) that was in place when the Dispute arose.
14. Assignment
This Agreement, and any rights and licenses granted hereunder, may not be transferred or assigned by you, but may be assigned by Square without restriction.
15. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Procedures
This Agreement incorporates by reference Square’s Intellectual Property Policy, which includes instructions for submitting a Copyright, Trademark, or Right of Publicity infringement notice at this link.
16. Taxes
You are solely responsible, as required under applicable law, for identifying and paying all taxes and other governmental fees and charges (including any penalties, interest, and other additions thereto) that may be imposed on you in connection with these Terms or any transactions you may enter into with Sellers. Square specifically disclaims any liability with respect to such taxes and you agree to fully indemnify, defend, and hold Square harmless against any such taxes and any other related expenses or costs arising from your transactions with a Seller.
17. Other Provisions
Except as expressly provided in this Agreement, these terms are a complete statement of the agreement between you and Square, and they describe the entire liability of Square and its vendors and suppliers (including processors) and your exclusive remedy with respect to your access and use of Square Go. In the event of a conflict between this Agreement and any other Square agreement or policy, this Agreement shall prevail on the subject matter of Square Go. If any provision of this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, then it shall be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Headings are included for convenience only, and shall not be considered in interpreting this Agreement. The Agreement does not limit any rights that Square may have under trade secret, copyright, patent, or other laws. Square’s failure to assert any right or provision under this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. No waiver of any term of this Agreement shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term.
18. Survival
In addition to any provision that is reasonably necessary to accomplish or enforce the purpose of this Agreement, the following sections of this Agreement survive and remain in effect in accordance with their terms upon the termination of this Agreement: 4 (Ownership), 5 (Privacy), 6 (Security), 11 (Modification and Termination), 12 (Effects of Termination), 13 (Right to Amend), 14 (Assignment), 15 (Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Procedures), 16 (Taxes), 17 (Other Provisions), and 18 (Survival).
