1. Overview and Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
Block, Inc. (“we,” “our” or “us”) is partnering with Beam (formerly Edquity) to provide the Square Seller Rebuilding Grants Program (the “Program”) to provide assistance measures to eligible Square sellers that have been directly impacted by the 2025 LA wildfires.
By applying to receive assistance under the Program, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (the “Terms”). These Terms apply in addition to any other applicable terms or policies governing your relationship with us as a Square seller, including our General Terms of Service and Privacy Notice (“Block’s Policies”), which are incorporated herein by reference. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Block’s Policies, Block’s Policies shall govern.
In addition, by applying for the Program, you agree to be bound by Beam’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

- Personal and/or business information necessary to identify and validate each seller/applicant.
- Business location/zip code.
- Details on the level of impact to your business (e.g., damage/destruction, degree of disruption, such as loss of sales).

This Program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is non-transferable. Resources available under the Program are limited and may run out.
Competed applications must be received between March 24, 2025 through April 4, 2025 at 11:59 pm PT.
5. Conditions for Receiving Assistance
All assistance provided to recipients under the Program is subject to the following conditions, determined at our sole discretion:
All eligibility criteria are met.
Applicant/recipient complies with applicable law at all times.
The application (as well as all supporting documentation requested by us, including tax documentation) is complete and submitted by the stated deadline.
The applicant has not previously received assistance under the Program.
The Program (or any features of the Program) are not restricted or otherwise prohibited under applicable law.
6. Delivery of Assistance, Tax Considerations & Recovery
Approved grant funding made under the Program will be deposited by Beam on our behalf into the bank account designated in the application process and/or currently associated with the seller’s Square account, subject to verification by Beam or us.
Grant funding under this Program may be considered taxable income and recipients are solely responsible for reporting and paying any applicable federal, state, and local taxes. However, approved grants will also include an additional amount (i.e., top-up) to help recipients offset the potential tax liability attributable to receiving the grant. Actual net funding proceeds may vary. We don’t guarantee that the top-up amount will be sufficient to cover tax liabilities associated with your grant. Under applicable law, we may issue to recipients a Form 1099-MISC (or other appropriate form) that reflects the total amount of the payment. We do not provide tax advice. Recipients should consult with their tax advisor regarding their personal circumstances and any tax consequences of accepting the grant as the top-up provided may not fully offset taxes due based on the recipient’s tax situation.
We reserve the right to demand repayment of any funds if we determine that an applicant/recipient is not eligible for assistance under the Program, is in violation of applicable law, or otherwise fails to comply with these Terms.
7. Suspension, Modification, or Termination
We reserve the right at any time to:
- Suspend or terminate the Program (or any part of the Program).
- Refuse to approve an application for any reason and at our sole discretion.
- Modify aspects of the Program, including eligibility criteria, these Terms, the application process, and timing of funding.
- Suspend or close the application process.
- Modify or change the starting and closing dates for applications.
8. Block Policies
As specified in Section 1 above, Block’s Policies are incorporated herein by reference. Block’s Policies contain provisions that impact your rights and obligations, including limitations on liability, representations and warranties, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution.
