All the things we’ve updated
Press and hold menu items on POS to view item details
You can now press and hold any menu item on the POS order screen to view allergen information, dietary details, and item descriptions. Staff can reference this information without navigating away from the current order.
Access and download tax documents in the mobile app
You can now view and download your tax documents directly from the Square app on your mobile. Documents are available in your account's tax documents section, so you can pull them up at tax time without logging in to Square Dashboard or contacting support. Product Area: Reports, Account Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
AI-powered support assistant on iOS and Android
A built-in support assistant is now available directly in the Square Point of Sale app on iOS and Android. You can ask questions about features, troubleshoot errors, or get step-by-step guidance through workflows like setting up items, configuring tax rates, or managing team permissions. The assistant uses the screen you're currently on to tailor its responses, so you get relevant help without leaving the app. Product Area: POS Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Appeal account deactivations through a self-service process
If your account has been deactivated, you can now submit an appeal directly from your Square Dashboard instead of contacting support. The appeal process walks you through providing business documentation, explaining your account activity, and answering questions about flagged transactions. Product Area: Account Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Automatic kitchen display name updates for items
Kitchen display names now update automatically when you rename items or variations in your catalogue. Previously, display name changes required a manual update from Square's support team. Your Kitchen Display System tickets reflect your current item names without extra steps. Product Area: KDS, Items & Inventory Target Audience: Food & Beverage
Calculate tips on the full amount before loyalty redemptions
In your payment settings, you can now choose whether tip suggestions are calculated on the full transaction amount or only on the balance remaining after loyalty rewards are applied. When enabled, the tip screen at checkout shows percentages based on the original order total, even if a customer redeems loyalty rewards that reduce what they owe. This keeps tip amounts consistent regardless of how the order is paid. Product Area: Payments, Loyalty Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Cleaner order status SMS alerts for buyers
SMS notifications sent to buyers when you update an order status have been rewritten to be shorter and easier to read. Each message now includes only the essential details: order number, status change, and pickup or delivery instructions. This reduces confusion for buyers tracking their orders. Product Area: Online, Orders Target Audience: Food & Beverage
Consistent page headers across Square Banking
Page headers across Square Banking now follow a standardised layout. Key actions like transfers and account settings appear in the same position on every Banking page, so the controls you need are where you expect them. Product Area: Banking Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Cross-border transaction fees in reporting
Cross-border fees now appear as a separate line item across your reports in Square Dashboard. You can view these fees in transaction details and fee breakdowns alongside standard processing fees. Product Area: Reports, Payments Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Customise ordering channels by location
You can now enable or disable specific ordering channels, like Square Online or third-party delivery platforms, on a per-location basis. In your menu settings, each location has its own channel configuration, so Location A can accept Square Online orders while Location B uses only in-person POS. This gives you more precise control over where and how each location takes orders. Product Area: Items & Inventory, Online, Sales channels Target Audience: Food & Beverage
Display item variations as tappable tiles on your POS
Item variations can now appear as individual tiles on your Square Point of Sale grid in Standard mode. Configure which variations display as tiles in your item settings. This reduces taps during checkout for items with multiple sizes or options. Product Area: POS Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail
Early Feature Access for new rollouts
You can now preview upcoming feature releases and choose when to activate them across your locations. Each rollout includes a summary of what's changed and how it affects your workflow, so you can prepare your team before anything goes live. You control the timing instead of having updates applied automatically. Product Area: Account Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Fund arrival dates on your balance page
Your balance page now displays when each transfer is expected to arrive. Depending on the transfer, you'll see either a specific date or an estimated timeframe, and the information updates as each transfer progresses. Product Area: Banking Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Import items from spreadsheets, PDFs, and other file formats
You can now upload item catalogues as spreadsheets, PDFs, or other common file formats, and Square automatically extracts and maps the data to your item fields. You review and edit the mapped columns before confirming the import. Square flags rows with missing or mismatched data so you can correct them inline before anything is saved to your catalogue. Product Area: Items & Inventory Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail, Services, Health & Beauty
Kerbside pickup for Square Online orders
You can now enable kerbside pickup as a fulfilment option in your Square Online ordering settings. Customers who select kerbside at checkout enter their vehicle details and receive instructions for where to collect their order. Kerbside orders appear alongside your other online orders with the vehicle information attached, so staff know which car to bring the order to.
On-demand delivery for Square Online orders
You can now offer on-demand delivery as a fulfilment option on your Square Online site. When a customer selects delivery at checkout, the order is automatically routed to a third-party delivery service like DoorDash or Uber Eats, which dispatches a driver to pick up from your location and deliver straight to the customer. Product Area: Online, Sales channels Target Audience: Food & Beverage, Retail
Run shift reports on Square Terminal and Square Handheld
You can now view shift reports directly on Square Terminal (T2) and Square Handheld (T3) without walking back to a stationary POS. Each report shows individual sales totals, tips, and payment breakdowns for the current shift. This helps your team cash up faster at the end of the day. Product Area: Hardware, Reports, Staff Target Audience: Food & Beverage
Simplified hardware setup for ordering devices in Setup Guide
Setup Guide now walks you through configuring ordering hardware, including assigning printers to prep stations and connecting your Kitchen Display System, in a single guided flow. You complete device setup without leaving Setup Guide. Product Area: Hardware, KDS Target Audience: Food & Beverage
Card reader support for Square Kiosk on iOS
Square Kiosk on iOS now supports card readers for payment processing. You can connect a card reader instead of using a Square Stand, giving you more flexibility in how you set up your kiosk hardware.
Expanded combo configuration in Square for Franchises
Combo meals configured in Square for Franchises now support multiple item selections and upcharges or downcharges per combo group. Franchise administrators can define combos centrally and push them to locations without requiring individual account-level configuration.

A new variation preselection option is now available in Square Point of Sale for F&B sellers. When enabled, items are automatically added to the check as soon as all required selections (such as size or preparation style) are made, without an extra confirmation step. This setting can be configured independently from the "Skip item details screen" option.
Search bar in combo category selection modal
A search bar is now available in the combo category selection modal, letting you find items by name instead of scrolling through categories. This is especially useful for sellers with large catalogues.

You can now search for items when selecting options within a combo on Square Point of Sale. This is especially useful for sellers with large catalogues, allowing you to find items quickly instead of scrolling through the full list.
