Saskatoon Comic & Entertainment Expo, September 17–18
Geek out at Prairieland Park when pop culture comes to Saskatoon for a star-studded expo that features special guests including, Carrie Fisher, Bob Morley from The 100, and Stranger Things’ Shannon Purser and Randall P. Havens. Sci-fi, comic, film and cult TV lovers can buy exclusive merchandise, meet their heroes and hang out with fellow enthusiasts at the third annual celebration of all things nerdy.
Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo, September 23–25
It’s Edmonton’s turn to get nerdy when the Expo comes to Alberta for a three-day extravaganza featuring celebrity pop culture icons, such as Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, Arrow) and John de Lancie (Breaking Bad, Star Trek: The Next Generation). Take part in the costume competition to win prizes for dressing up like your heroes at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Calgary Oktoberfest, September 23–24
Say “prost” to Calgary when the Oktoberfest comes to Stampede Park for a fun-filled, three-day celebration. Bavarian breweries will be there along with local craft breweries serving homegrown, hoppy offerings. Get into the spirit with authentic Oktoberfest music and singing, plus plenty of beer samples (you must be 19 years old with an ID to attend).
Harvest Haus, Vancouver, September 29–October 9
Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Plaza will be transformed into a mini Munich Festival with over 1,000 revellers enjoying fresh food, fun and dancing — along with a generous helping of beer — over two weeks in October. The festival includes Duelling Art, a show of Renaissance-era swordsmanship featuring an historically inspired feast and the opportunity to see the fighting skills of bygone days.
Edmonton Oktoberfest, September 30–October 1
Edmonton’s top restaurants serve up food to partygoers at the city’s popular Oktoberfest. The festival features local breweries as well as friends from Bavaria, who are bringing an authentic taste of German beer to the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Banff Craft Beer Festival, November 25–26
