What is a pizza POS?
A pizza POS is a point of sale system designed to take orders, accept payments, and keep service organised for a pizza shop. It helps you ring up custom pizzas with modifiers (like size and toppings), manage dine-in and takeaway flow, and track sales in one place. With Square for Restaurants, your menu, payments, and reporting stay connected.
Can I take online orders and in-person orders together?
Yes. Square lets you manage online and in-person orders in one system, depending on your setup, so your team doesn’t have to reconcile separate tools. Online ordering supports customer payment at checkout, and your sales data still rolls into the same reporting. Start with Square for Restaurants and track performance in Square analytics.
How much are Square processing fees in the UK?
Square processing fees depend on how you take the payment: in person, online or manually entered. In person is 1.75% for UK cards (plus 1.5% for non-UK cards); online is 1.4% + 25p for UK cards (2.5% + 25p for non-UK cards); and manually entered is 2.5% (plus 1.5% for non-UK cards). Fees are subject to change and may vary. These are deducted before funds are transferred.1
Do I need Square hardware to use the POS?
No. You can start taking orders in the Square Point of Sale app without buying hardware. If you want to accept card payments in person, you’ll need compatible Square hardware, such as Square Terminal or Square Register. You can also compare setups for your counter and collection area using Compare hardware.
Can I accept contactless and mobile wallet payments?
Yes. Square supports contactless payments, chip and PIN, and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on device and setup. For in-person acceptance, pair the Square Point of Sale app with hardware such as Square Terminal or Square Register.
How do I manage multiple locations from one account?
Square Dashboard gives you a central view across your locations. Compare sales, track inventory, and monitor team performance in one place. Menu updates can be applied across locations, and you can switch between sites from your mobile device. Depending on your plan, you can also access multi-location inventory management and more advanced reporting.
