About Square support

We can all use an extra hand when it comes to building our business. Square offers multiple support channels to find answers to your questions, meeting you when and where you need support. Our self-serve resources are the fastest way to find answers to your questions. If you have any account-specific questions, you can always contact our team directly.

You can contact Square Support through live chat, phone or email — our number is 1800 760 137. We’re available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Melbourne time.
There may be a wait when you call, so feel free to use our callback option if you can’t wait on the line.

Before you begin

Only account owners or authorized representatives can contact Square. Learn how to add and manage authorised representatives. Have your account information handy. If you contact Square Support using the email address or phone number associated with the account, we can pull up your account more efficiently.

Option 1: Visit Support Centre

Square Support Centre gives you instant access to search the most up-to-date Square support resources, support articles, and video tutorials to help you start, manage, and grow your business with Square. We also invite you to provide feedback on our support resources — your feedback helps us grow together.

To access the Square Support Centre:

  1. Visit squareup.com/help.

  2. Search our Support Center by question, keyword, or topic.

To provide Support Centre article feedback:

  1. Select a Support Centre article.

  2. At the end of an article, find “Was this article helpful?”.

  3. Select Yes or No.

Option 2: Get in-app support

Get help and view tutorials within the Square Point of Sale app, Square Terminal, or Square Register. Our in-app support includes linked action items to guide you.

To get in-app support:

  1. After signing in to your account, tap ≡ More > Support > Get help.

  2. Tap How can we help you? to search Square support resources by question, keyword, or topic.

To view in-app tutorials:

  1. Tap ≡ More > Support > Tutorials and tours.

  2. Select a topic you want to learn more about.

Option 3: Visit the Seller Community

Square Seller Community is a space to collaborate and learn with other Square sellers. Join the Seller Community to find out how other businesses are using Square, connect with businesses facing similar challenges, and pose questions to our online community when you need help or advice. To access the Seller Community:

  1. Go to the Square Seller Community and click Sign In.

  2. Use the email address and password associated with your Square account. If this is your first time using the Seller Community, create a public username.

Option 4: Watch Square support videos on YouTube

If you prefer to watch a video tutorial, the Square YouTube channel has a library full of resources to help you get the most out of your Square account. To view our videos:

  1. Go to the Square YouTube channel.

  2. Select Videos to view available content.

Option 5: Contact Square Support

We know you may need more than our online resources to help manage, understand, and grow your business. Square has a dedicated Square Support team that can provide account specific assistance on transactions and transfers while offering expert knowledge of Square products and services. You can contact our Square Support team through chat or by phone.

Messaging

Often the fastest way to contact Square Customer Success, chat is the preferred support method of many Square sellers. Start your chat by providing our support team information about your business’s needs. You will be paired with the first available team member.

  1. From our Support Centre homepage, click Contact on the top right.
  2. Select an option or type ‘contact’ in the chat.
  3. Select Chat > Chat with Square Support.
  4. Select a location, then click Next.
  5. Click Chat with us to chat with someone from our team.

Note: Live messaging is available from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm AET.

Phone

You can call Square Support on 1800 760 137. Live messaging is available from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm AET.

There may be a wait when you call, so feel free to use our call back option if you can’t wait on the line. Please note, we can only discuss account information with an authorised representative.

To access your customer code:

  1. Log in to your Square account.
  2. From Square Support Centre, click Ask our support assistant.
  3. Type ‘customer code’ in the chat and click on the Customer Code link.
  4. Select your location > Next.
  5. Your customer code will appear with our contact options.

Note: This customer code is used to validate your Square account. Treat it as you would any other sensitive account information.
