Get Support at Square

We can all use an extra hand when it comes to building our business. That’s why Square offers multiple support channels to find answers to your questions — meeting you when and where you need support.

You can contact Square Customer Success through live chat, phone or email — our number is 1800 760 137. We’re available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Melbourne time.

There may be a wait when you call, so feel free to use our callback option if you can’t wait on the line.

Support Centre

The Square Support Centre gives you instant access to search Square’s most up to date support resources. Search our Support Centre by question, keyword, or topic. Browse our resources, and find inspiration exploring support resources by Product or Topic, and see What’s Trending with other Square sellers.

Square Support Assistant

Access our automated support assistant to find answers to your questions 24/7. Use a compatible web browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari to browse through common topics or search keywords.

  1. Visit squareup.com/help.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Ask our support assistant. Alternatively, click Contact in the top banner.

  3. Enter a few keywords or short phrases for the best results.

In-App Support

Get help, view tutorials, and order a new Square Reader all within the Square Point of Sale app, Square Terminal or Square Register. Our in-app support includes linked action items that will navigate you closer to your desired solution.

Get in-app support

  1. Tap ≡ More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Support > Get help.
  3. Select one of the topics or tap How can we help you? to search Square’s support resources by question, keyword, or topic.

View in-app tutorials

  1. Tap ≡ More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Support > Tutorials and tours to select a topic you want to learn more about.

Order Reader in-app

  1. Tap ≡ More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Support > Order hardware.
  3. Tap Order Reader to browse Square hardware.

Seller Community

Square Seller Community is a space to collaborate and learn with other Square sellers. Join the Seller Community to find out how other businesses are using Square, connect with businesses facing similar challenges, and pose questions to our online community when you need help or advice.

Access the Square Seller Community

  1. Go to sellercommunity.com and click Sign In.
  2. Use the email address and password associated with your Square account. If this is your first time using the Seller Community, you’ll need to create a public username.

If you prefer to watch a video tutorial, Square's YouTube channel has a library full of videos or webinars to help you get the most out of your Square account.

Square Support

We are aware Square sellers may need more than our online resources to help manage, understand, and grow their businesses. Square has a dedicated Square Support team that can provide account specific assistance on transactions and transfers while offering expert knowledge of Square’s products and services.

Messaging

Often the fastest way to contact Square Support, messaging is the preferred support method of many Square sellers. Start your chat by providing our team with information about your business needs. You will be paired with the first available team member.

  1. From our Support Centre homepage, click Contact in the top right.
  2. Select an option or type “contact” in the chat.
  3. Select Chat > Chat with Square Support.
  4. Select a location, click Next.
  5. Click Message Us to chat with someone from our team.

Note: Live messaging is available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Melbourne time.

Phone

You can call Square Support on 1800 760 137. We’re available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Melbourne time.

To obtain your Customer Code:

  1. Log in to your Square account.
  2. From Square Support Centre, click Ask our support assistant or Contact.
  3. Type “customer code” in the chat and click on the Customer Code link.
  4. Select your location > Next.
  5. Your customer code will appear with our contact options.

Note: This customer code can be used to validate your Square account. Treat it as you would any other sensitive account information.
