Yamabahçe, a London-based Turkish restaurant specialising in pide (a delicious sort of Turkish pizza), is the latest creation from Alan Yau. Enough to make the renowned restauranter come out of retirement, the mouthwatering Pide has resonated with the hoards of return customers who make their way to St Christopher’s Place in Marylebone to taste the frequently changing menu.
The Turkish Pide isn’t a new concept, in fact, it dates back to the 1850s when bakers would stuff their bread with a mixture of ingredients before baking it. But those unfamiliar with the dish needn’t stress - Yamabahce has made it easy for customers to see each dish before ordering on it’s Instagram account. As well as having a visual menu that customers can peruse on Instagram, there is also a blackboard inside the restaurant that lists the daily dishes.
Yamabahçe have been using Square for their payments since it launched in the UK market over 2 years ago. As well as using Square Reader and now Square Terminal, Yamabahçe also uses Team Management software to track server sales.
Reha Arslan, business development manager for Yamabahçe spoke about the benefits his team has found using Square Terminal, “Our staff are constantly on the move and with Square Terminal they can now take orders, accept contactless and Chip and PIN payments, and then print and send digital receipts - all tableside. Yamabahçe is a pide specialist, with a variety of other daily-changing menu items available. There are no reservations required, and it opens early for baked-egg brunches. Get there early to see the pide chefs roll the fresh dough by hand alongside an impressive wood-fired oven that takes up the majority of the ground floor.
