Hi, I'm Jake Milne. I'm the bar manager at Mikkeller Brewpub London, and this is a day of my life. Mornings at work, you're just gearing up for the big evening. It's like to come before the storm. By the time I get in, the brewer's already here. They get in early.
Often the windows is steaming hot, and here, especially on a cold winter's day, it's lovely to get in. Square's impacted our business by just making life easy for all the new staff that come on. How we work with the brewers, paying our schedules. It's great. Square saves us time every day, every sale, it's just two, three seconds. So easy.
There's a saying in New Zealand, 'What is the most valuable thing in the world?' It's the people. The people. The people. So that's the brewers, the staff, and the bar, of course, all the customers too. Where we are on Exmouth Market. We fit in with amazing restaurants, amazing pubs, amazing cafes. It's all part of the community. To unwind after work, I have a staffie, one before you head home. We've got the best beer here. It's easy to relax.
