MicroTouch device available on Shop for KDS Android

What comes in the box when I purchase from Square Shop?

Your MicroTouch 21.5" device includes an AC Power Cord as well as an AC-dc-adapter. You will use the power cord to plug into the wall and then the AC-dc adapter plugs in from your touchscreen device to the power cord. The MicroTouch 15.6 device includes an AC-dc converter instead of an adapter. You will set up the converter exactly as you would an adapter.

Note: If you have additional questions about your MicroTouch device, check out the full device manuals for MicroTouch 21.5" and MicroTouch 15.6". If your device is defective, reach out to the MicroTouch Support team for assistance.

How do I start using the MicroTouch device?

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions:

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to power on.

  • Sleep: Press and release the power button to enter sleep mode. Press and release again to resume from sleep mode.

  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to power off.

What mount do you recommend?

Use the VESA mount (available on Square Shop) to attach your MicroTouch device to a wall so that it doesn’t take up counter space in your kitchen. Review the VESA mount manufacturer's guide for more information.

Note: The 100 mm x 100 mm VESA standard threaded mounting hole pattern is centered on the back of your MicroTouch device.

Where do I connect my network cable?

Connect your network cable to the LAN connector. All other ports are optional outputs.

If you have additional questions about your MicroTouch device, check out the full device manuals for MicroTouch 21.5" and MicroTouch 15.6".

How do I set up the VESA wall mount?

Follow the instructions below provided by the manufacturer:

Installing arm mount into the wall

If drilling into wood studs:

  1. Use stud finder to locate and mark stud center lines.

  2. Use wallplate and level to mark mounting holes on stud center line.

  3. Drill pilot holes using 5/32”(4mm) bit. (2.5" (64mm) minimum depth required).

  4. Level wall plate. Install using provided wood screws.

If drilling into concrete or cinder block:

  1. Use wallplate and level to mark mounting holes on stud center line.

  2. Drill pilot holes using 5/16”(8mm) bit. (2.5" (64mm) minimum depth required).

    1. Note: Do not drill into mortar joints.

  3. Use hammer to insert anchor flush to concrete.

  4. Level wall plate. Install using concrete anchors and wood screws provided.

Attaching your display to the arm

  1. You may choose to use 4x 10mm screws alone, or 4x 20mm screws with spacers and washers.

    1. Note: Square recommends using the 4x 10mm screws with MicroTouch displays. The lengthier screws with spacers are not required.

  2. Start by inserting two screws into the upper left and right threaded holes on the back of the touchscreen.

  3. Bring the display to the wall mount and insert the two upper screws until the upper notches on the mounting plate.

  4. Insert the remaining two screws through the lower two holes in the mounting plate and tighten.

  5. Fully tighten the upper two screws to secure the display in place.

Adjusting your arm

  1. For easier cable management, install cable tie and cable tie holder as shown above using the included ¼” screw. Then feed display cable through the tie and through the cable channel on the underside of the arm.

  2. There are several ways to loosen, adjust and tighten the position of the arm and display. Using a 3/16” (5mm) allen wrench, you can adjust the position and tension of the three joints.

    1. Note: Do not remove screw or loosen screw so much that it is no longer engaged with the mount. Doing so may cause the display to fall.

To reposition the tilt of the display, use the included ½” hex wrench to loosen and tighten the bolt as shown below.
