Set up item preferences for your online store

    Your online store includes several options to customize how items display on your website and how you can manage them in your account.

    Before you begin

    You can set up and manage your item preferences options from your Square Dashboard. Before you can set up your online store item preferences, you need to set up items for your online store. Learn how to set up items for your online store.

    • Gift options are only available with a Square Online Plus or Premium subscription or a Square Plus or Premium subscription.

    These item preferences are moving from your online store page to your item library in Square Dashboard.

    Set up your online store item preferences

    Default item fulfillment

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online.
    2. Click Shared Settings > Item Preferences.
    3. Select Edit under Default item fulfillment.
    4. Select your preferred fulfillment methods.
    5. Select Save.

    You can also set up item fulfillment by selecting items in your Item library and clicking Edit next to Online fulfillment methods. Learn how to set up item default settings.

    Gift options

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online.
    2. Click Shared Settings > Item Preferences.
    3. Select Set up under Gift options.
    4. To offer a gift-wrapping service, select the Gift wrap toggle.
    5. Enter a customer-facing label and description, and add a price if you wish to charge a fee. Select Continue.
    6. Choose to apply gifting to all items or only some items. If you choose some items, use the checkboxes to choose which items will have gifting options.
    7. Select Apply to save your changes. Note: Gift messages and gift wrap settings will be applied to all your items. To apply these options to individual items use the bulk setup feature in your Item library after saving your preferences here.

    Only physical and food & beverage item types support gifting.
