Get Support at Square

We can all use an extra hand when it comes to building our business. That’s why Square offers multiple support channels to find answers to your questions — meeting you when and where you need support.

  • Start by searching our Support Center for easy to follow product guides, help articles, and troubleshooting tips.

  • Explore our Seller Community to learn how other business owners are using Square to run and grow their businesses.

  • Square even has quick support resources built into our Point of Sale app, Terminal and Register.

For account issues that require additional assistance from Square, we have a Square Support team who can help assist you with your Square account.

In-App Support

Get help, view tutorials, and order a new Square Reader all within the Square App, Terminal or Register. Our in-app support includes linked action items that will navigate you closer to your desired solution.

Get in-app support

  1. Tap ≡ More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Support > Get help.
  3. Tap How can we help you? to search Square’s support resources by question, keyword, or topic.

View in-app tutorials

  1. Tap ≡ More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Support > Tutorials and tours to select a topic you want to learn more about.

Order new Square hardware in the app

  1. Tap ≡ More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Support > Order hardware.
  3. You will be redirected to the Square Shop.

Seller Community

Square Seller Community is a space to collaborate and learn with other Square sellers. Join the Seller Community to find out how other businesses are using Square, connect with businesses facing similar challenges, and pose questions to our online community when you need help or advice.

Access the Square Seller Community

  1. Go to squareup.com/community and click Sign In.
  2. Use the email address and password associated with your Square account. If this is your first time using the Seller Community, you’ll need to create a public username.

Square Support

We are aware Square Sellers may need more than our online resources to help manage, understand, and grow their businesses. Square has a dedicated Square Support team that can provide account specific assistance on transactions and transfers while offering expert knowledge of Square’s products and services. You can contact our Square Support team through chat or by phone.

You can call Square Support on 1-855-700-6000. We’re available from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT.

If you subscribe to Square Online’s Premium plan, Square for Restaurants Plus, Square for Retail Plus or have questions about your Square Register or Square Terminal, you get access to 24/7 phone support in English with your unique customer code. To obtain your customer code:

  1. Sign in to your Square account and visit squareup.com/help.
  2. Click the floating help button or Contact in the top-right hand corner.
  3. Type “customer code” in the chat and click on the Customer Code link.
  4. Select your location > Next.
  5. Your customer code will appear with our contact options.

Messaging

Often the fastest way to contact Square Support, messaging is the preferred support method of many Square sellers. Start your chat by providing our support team with information about your business’s needs. Once you’ve reached out, Square will pair you with the first available Square Support advocate for support.

From your Square Point of Sale app:

  1. Tap ≡ More.
  2. Tap Support > Get help.
  3. Tap the chat icon to begin a chat.

Note: You can navigate back to your chat session by tapping the chat icon from your in-app support menu at any time.

To get messaging support from your computer:

  1. Sign in and visit squareup.com/help.
  2. Click the floating help button or Contact in the top right.
  3. Select an option or type “contact” in the chat.
  4. Select Chat > Chat with Square Support.
  5. Select a location, click Next.
  6. Click Message Us to chat with someone from our team.
