Control how you appear across the Apple apps customers use every day
What changed: Connect Apple Business to Square to manage supported business information and Apple Maps place card features directly from Square Dashboard. Once connected, your business information – including hours, logo and contact details – automatically stays in sync across Apple Maps, Siri, Wallet and more. Add action links that connect customers directly to your Square ordering, menu or booking experiences.
Why it matters: Customers discover businesses every day through Apple Maps and Siri. Connecting Apple Business helps ensure they see accurate business information and makes it easier to take action from your Apple Maps place card.
Access: Available globally for payments-activated Square sellers with a fixed, physical business location or shopfront. Setup may vary based on your location, business type and Square account status. In Dashboard, go to Channels > Apple Business to get started.

Create revenue centres to group and compare sales
What changed: A revenue centre is one part of a business – a bar, a terrace, or a delivery channel. Sellers assign devices, floor plan sections, and channels to each, so orders are counted in the right place automatically. Grouping the Sales summary report by revenue centre then shows how each area performed.
Why it matters: When every part of a business feeds one sales total, there's no way to tell which areas are performing well and which are underperforming. Revenue centres give each area its own line in reporting, so staffing and menu decisions rest on real numbers.
Access: Square Premium, Square for Restaurants Premium, or a legacy Square for Restaurants Plus subscription is required, along with the Manage revenue centres permission. In Dashboard, go to Settings > Sales > Revenue centres to set them up. Grouped results appear under Reports > Sales summary. To move a single order to a different revenue centre, open it in Order Manager.
View the Square for Retail app in dark mode
What changed: The Square for Retail app follows the device's system appearance setting, so it appears in dark mode whenever the device is set to dark. A dark mode override keeps the app dark or light independent of the device setting.
Why it matters: A bright screen is hard to look at in a dimly lit space, and some people find high-contrast screens hard to read in any light. Dark mode makes the app comfortable to work in through a long shift, and it matches how the rest of the device already looks.
Access: In the Square for Retail app, go to Settings > Appearance to set a dark mode override. Devices already set to dark appearance show the app in dark mode without it.

Preview tickets on Kitchen Display System as items are added
What changed: Items appear on a Kitchen Display System (KDS) ticket as they're added to the basket, before the order is sent from Point of Sale. The ticket shows as a draft and updates as staff keep adding items.
Why it matters: Nothing reaches the kitchen until the full order is sent, so the kitchen stands idle while the rest of the items are still being entered. Draft tickets give kitchen staff a head start on what's already in the basket, which shortens the wait for customers.
Access: In Point of Sale, go to More > Settings > Checkout > Order entry and turn on Show tickets for draft orders on KDS. On KDS, tap View all settings > Tickets and turn on Show tickets for draft orders. Both are required for draft tickets to appear. Either can also be set per device in Dashboard: for Point of Sale, go to Settings > Device management > Modes, select a Square for Restaurants mode, choose Manage, then Checkout > Order entry; for KDS, go to Settings > Device management > Devices, select a KDS device, choose Manage, then Checkout > Order entry > Tickets.
Set up ticket layouts with up to 10 columns on Kitchen Display System
What changed: Sellers arrange tickets across four to ten columns on KDS. The column count is set per display, with guidance in the setting on which counts suit which screen sizes – four for small devices, ten for large displays.
Why it matters: A kitchen loses time whenever staff page between screens to find a ticket that didn't fit on the display. Wider layouts hold more tickets in view at once on a large screen – up from a previous maximum of six columns.
Access: On KDS, go to Layout settings to choose a column count, or set it per device in Dashboard under Device profile settings.

See the same sales totals on Point of Sale and in Dashboard
What changed: The Sales report on Point of Sale uses the same gross sales, product sales and net sales definitions as the Dashboard, so the totals match across both. The payment methods section also provides a more detailed breakdown of payment types.
Why it matters: Checking the day's takings on Point of Sale and reviewing the same day in the Dashboard should produce one set of figures, not two that need reconciling. Matching definitions mean a figure read from either report holds up in the other, and the payment methods detail answers how customers paid without a second look elsewhere.
Access: On Point of Sale for iOS and Android, go to Reports > Sales. The payment methods breakdown appears in the same report. Sellers already using the Sales report don't need to take any action.

Keep taking future orders for items marked sold out
What changed: Sellers set a reset date and time when marking an item variation sold out in the item library. The variation stays visible on the menu and is listed as available for pre-order, so customers can order it for fulfilment windows after the reset time.
Why it matters: Running out of an item partway through the day says nothing about tomorrow, but a sold-out marker that blocks ordering outright closes off dates the kitchen could still fill. A reset time keeps the variation orderable for later fulfilment windows, so future orders keep arriving.
Access: Available to sellers taking orders through Neighborhoods and Ordering Profiles. In Item Library, mark an item variation Sold Out and set a time for it to become available again. Variations with future counts aren't included, and the reset time doesn't change sales limits.
