Customize the Website Footer in Square Online
The footer section at the bottom of your Square Online site is displayed on every page, allowing you to call attention to important information no matter the page your visitors are on. You can customize the footer in several ways in the Square Online site editor by selecting the footer. Changes you make here will apply to the footer on all pages on your website.
Note: By default, the footer includes a branded banner to show visitors you built your site with Square. You can upgrade your site to remove this branding from the footer.
Change the Footer Layout
You can change the overall look of the footer with a new layout.
Note: Different pages cannot have different footer layouts. The footer will be the same regardless of the page that's open.
In your Square Online site editor menu, go to Customize > Layout and color to update what the footer looks like at any time. Some layouts include extra features, like adding the navigation menu or your accepted payment methods.
Edit the Footer Content
There are several different types of content that you can customize and include in the footer. You can use the toggle switches in the Square Online site editor to turn off any content you don’t want in the footer.
Add a logo
Select Logo to view the options for your site title. You can switch from using a logo image to text via the menu at the top, and you can replace, edit or delete the current image using the buttons below the image preview. To adjust the display size of the logo, use the slider under the image options. You can also adjust the zoom level using the Edit button, but keep in mind that increasing the zoom too much can cause pixelation and lower image quality.
You can use a logo that’s different from the one in the header of your website. Select "..." > Replace to choose a separate logo image for the footer. You can also link the footer logo to an external URL using the link button.
Add an email signup form
Select Subscription to edit the settings for the email signup form.
You can customize the text shown on the button and text field, change the button style, give the form an internal name, and add a confirmation message that customers will see after submitting.
Add social media icons
Select Social icons to view your options.
Select Connect in the menu to choose which social network icons to display and link to your profile(s). You can also choose a color scheme. Use the Social media colors if you want the icons to use their own brand colors, or pick one of the other color schemes to match them to your website colors.
Note: If you don’t add your own usernames, the icons will not display on your website.
Edit external links
Select External links to change this text to anything you want. By default, this displays copyright information.
To edit the text, click inside the highlighted area in the footer and select the text you want to change. Use the options on the left to format the text with different styles, change the font, size, and color, or add a link.
List accepted payment methods
If you choose a footer layout that includes a payment methods option under Customize > Layout and color, you can toggle on Payment methods to list your accepted payment methods in the footer. This will highlight to your customers what they can use to purchase from your online store.
The payment methods that appear in the footer will come from the checkout settings in your Square Online Overview page .
Note: Enabling payment methods in your footer is a requirement for Google Product Listings. Learn more about how to set up Google Product Listings on Square.
Change the Footer Background
In the Square Online site editor under Customize, you can change the footer Layout and color, or Background. Some layouts include more features than others, so try them all out to see what suits your needs.
