If you notice a transaction or change made to your Square Point of Sale* account that you didn’t authorize, contact us right away.
If you have security concerns about your account, please do the following:
1. Reset Your Password
Visit squareup.com/password. Choose a complex and unique password that is at least 8 characters long, with a mix of numbers, symbols, and capital and lowercase letters. Avoid using your name, email address, mobile number, birthday, or any other personal information in the new password. If you use the same password for other services, it’s a good idea to change those passwords as well.
2. Contact Us if You Require Assistance
If can’t log in with your email address and password, please contact us by submitting an Account Review request. Be sure to provide the email and phone number associated with your Square account in the request – we’ll work with you to get you back in control of your account.
3. Protect Yourself
Keep in mind that Square will not ask you to send sensitive information such as your email address, password, identification information, bank account details, or credit card information over email, phone, or text message. Phishing email may look similar to official emails from Square, so learn how to recognize and report phishing scams.
Take advantage of the 2-Step Verification feature. This tool provides an extra layer of security for your Square account, protecting it from unauthorized access. All you need is a mobile phone number.
