Manage Your Square Checking Account

Manage Your Checking Balance

When you make a sale, your funds are immediately available to access in your Square Checking account balance via your Square Debit Card or your account and routing numbers. You can also add funds to your Square Checking balance using your account and routing numbers or a linked debit card.

You can transfer funds from your Square Checking balance to your linked bank account or debit card at any time using next-business-day or instant transfers from your online Square Dashboard, the Square Dashboard app, or the Square Point of Sale app.

Square account holders can also order up to five debit cards per individual Square account. The additional debit cards can be assigned out to individuals at your business, such as managers or other team members. Once additional debit cards are ordered and activated, Square account owners can manage the debit cards the same way as the primary card on the Square account. Actions such as locking or canceling the cards, managing notifications, or viewing account and routing numbers can be done by selecting the debit card from the Balance section in your Square Point of Sale app or in your online Square Dashboard.

Add Square Card to Your Digital Wallet

Square Debit Card includes the option to add your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay for faster online, in-app, and in-person payments with your mobile device. You can only add your phone to Apple or Google Pay from your Square Point of Sale app and not your phone’s wallet settings.

Note: Only Square account owners can add additional Square Debit Cards to their digital wallet on their smartphone. Non-Square account owners invited to use additional Square Debit Cards do not have the ability to add debit cards to their digital wallet.

File a Dispute on Your Square Debit Card

Where there are card payments, there are payment disputes. As a Square Checking account owner, you can count on us to help you through this process and present your dispute to the merchant in a timely manner.

Note: If you have multiple Square Debit Cards active on your account, only the Square account holder is able to file a dispute for any debit cards on the account. Non-Square account owners invited to use additional Square Debit Cards aren’t able to file a dispute.
