Get Started with Square Go

Square Go seamlessly connects with Square Appointments so clients can discover, book, and rebook local beauty or personal care professionals. Square Go automatically syncs with Square Appointments to show the same services, prices, and calendar availability—any bookings made via the Square Go app on iOS devices will immediately appear on your Square Appointments POS app.

Square Go eligibility

Eligible sellers can automatically access a free Square Go profile; you do not have to do anything to activate it. To be eligible for Square Go, sellers must:

  • use Square Appointments

  • be an eligible business type (beauty or personal care)

  • enable online booking

  • have at least one client booking in the last 30 days

  • be based in the United States

Note: Businesses that fit the following criteria are eligible for Square Go including beauty and personal care businesses, such as beauty salons, hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, med spas, massage parlors, tattoo or piercing parlors, and more. The Square Go app automatically connects with Square Appointments to sync your services, pricing, and availability that you set up in Online Booking via Square Dashboard.

Get started

If you have online booking turned on, your profile is already live–all you have to do is add photos and review your business listing. To review and edit how your business appears on Square Go:

  1. Go to Appointments > Online Booking > Channels > Square Go manager on your online Square Dashboard.

  2. Add photos to show potential customers how your location looks by adding photos of the shop front, interior and services.

  3. Add a business description, then review your services and staff.

  4. Configure your settings for Google reviews - help customers learn about your business by displaying ratings and reviews from your Google Business Profile.

  5. Review your location information and cancellation policy.

Note: Updates here will reflect immediately in the Square Go app without the need to save changes. You can click View in app to preview the changes.

Your client can scan the QR code below to automatically be directed to the App Store on their iOS device.

Once a client installs the Square Go app for iOS devices, they can sign in with the same phone number they use to book appointments. Clients can view all past appointments in their profile history.

Note: Share our Square Go website with your client for more information. Square Go is not yet available on Android devices.

Is there a Square Go app for Android devices?

How much does Square Go cost?

Square Go is completely free for businesses and clients to use.

Do I need to switch away from Square Appointments?

No, Square Go automatically syncs with your Square Appointments settings (calendar, services, staff, prices) to allow clients to book you—similar to online booking through Square Online. When a client books on Square Go, you’ll receive the appointment request in your Square Appointments POS app, the same way you do today.

Which businesses are suitable for Square Go?

How can I make my business more visible in the Square Go app, with the goal to attract more clients?

Make sure your profile is complete and up to date. A great profile has photos of your salon and services, a compelling unique business description, clear service names and descriptions, and staff profiles. You can manage your Square Go profile via Square Go manager on your online Square Dashboard.

Does Square Go accept payments?

Not yet. We are working to accept payments in the future.

How does Square Go attract clients?

Square Go attracts clients by recommending businesses that similar clients have visited.

What are channel filters?

Channel filters enable you to segment your customers by different channels, such as in-store, online, third-party apps, subscriptions, invoices, and more.

Opt-out of Square Go

If you are not interested in being listed on the Square Go marketplace at this time, you can opt out at any time. To opt out of Square Go:

  1. Go to Appointments > Online Booking > Channels > Square Go manager on your online Square Dashboard.

  2. If you have multiple locations, change the location(s) via the dropdown menu.

  3. Toggle off the location. The location will then appear as 'Listing inactive'.

Your existing clients will still be able to use Square Go to manage their bookings, but new clients will not be able to discover you.

Edit Your Square Go Profile 


To edit how your business appears inside Square Go:

  1. Log into your Square Dashboard.

  2. Select Appointments > Marketplace.

  3. Or Select Appointments > Online Booking > Channels > Square Go.
