Match transfers to sales

Who is this article for?
  • Sellers with the balance permission to view transfer reporting can match transfers to sales. Sellers with the account and settings permission to edit business information can create transfer tags. Set permissions in Square Dashboard.

About matching transfers

You can view your transfer details in your Square Dashboard or the Square POS apps. If you are using the same bank account for multiple locations, you can use transfer tags to identify which location is linked to a specific transfer.

Before you begin

You can identify your payments included in transfers from both your Square Dashboard and Square POS apps. However, you can only download transaction details as a CSV file in your Square Dashboard.

If you’re reviewing a transfer and don’t see all of the payments you were expecting to receive for that day, these payments were most likely included in the following transfer. This can happen if payments were accepted after your daily transfer cut-off time. Learn about our transfer schedule options in the Support Center article Transfer Options with Square, and select the schedule that best meets your business needs.

You need to have access to your Square Dashboard to create transfer tags.
