Add kitchen names to items
About kitchen names
Kitchen names let you customize how your items appear on printed order tickets and kitchen displays. A kitchen name is an internal name for any item, variation, or modifier you can set to the preferences of your business. You can create custom names that are shorter, more detailed, or in the preferred language of your kitchen staff.
Before you begin
You can add kitchen names to your existing items from your Square Dashboard. Learn how to create and edit items. Kitchen names only display on your Square KDS and on printed kitchen tickets. They will not show on your Square Point of Sale apps or on your customers’ printed receipts.
You can set your printer profile to display your kitchen names from your Square Dashboard, Square Restaurant POS app or Square KDS app. Learn how to set up printer profiles.
