Check Out with the Square Appointments App

Accept payments from clients using the Square Appointments iPhone and iPad app. To process these payments from the Square Appointments app, you’ll also need to be running the most updated version of the Square Point of Sale app. If you haven’t downloaded the Square Point of Sale app, you won’t be able to check out Square Appointments customers.

To check out customers from Square Appointments:

  1. Tap on an appointment in your calendar.
  2. Tap Checkout.
  3. The Square Point of Sale app will automatically open. Add items to the sale from your library, or re-enter the payment amount and tap Charge to begin the checkout process.

Track Staff Sales

To track individual staff sales and reconcile tips, sign up for Employee Management. Once you sign up for Employee Management, you can assign each staff member a unique passcodes they’ll enter before processing a sale.

From the Appointments app:

  1. Tap on an appointment in your calendar.
  2. Tap Check Out and the Square Point of Sale app will automatically open.
  3. Enter the employee passcode.
  4. Add items to the sale from your library, or re-enter the payment amount and tap Charge to begin the checkout process.

Appointments sales are recorded in your Square Point of Sale sales history. You’re currently unable to view payment statuses or items purchased in the Square Appointments app.

Reporting

Once you enable Employee Management, you can export detailed reports to gain insights into how your services and staff are performing. To get started:

  1. Head to your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Click Category Sales.
  3. Click Advanced Options.
  4. Choose Display By > Employee.
  5. You can view each each staff member’s sales by category to help you distinguish between services and items sold.
  6. Click Export to download a CSV file for your records.
