Set Up Square for Restaurants mobile POS kit for Android

To use your Square for Restaurants Mobile POS kit (L7 phone case + Square Reader), you will need a Samsung Galaxy A13 and an active Square for Restaurants Plus Subscription. You can also sign up for a free 30-day trial.

Note: Square for Restaurants mobile POS kit is not yet available with iOS devices or Android devices other than Samsung Galaxy A13. Both Square Reader (1st generation) and Square Reader (2nd generation) are compatible with the L7 phone case.

Set up your Restaurant Mobile POS Kit

  1. Purchase the L7 phone case and Square Reader via Square Shop.

  2. Set up your Samsung Galaxy 13 – turn on the phone and follow any setup instructions.

  3. Set up your hardware.

    1. Using the image below as a reference, insert the Square Reader for contactless and chip & PIN cards into the case with the card slot down and logo out. Then, place the phone into the case.

    2. Once the kit is assembled, plug in both the phone and Square Reader to begin charging them. Note: you won’t need to remove the Square Reader from the case to charge it – plug it in the slot within the case.

  4. Download the Square for Restaurants mobile Android app from the Google Play store.

  5. Once you download the app, create a mobile device code to log in to Square for Restaurants mobile POS and begin using your device. Mobile device codes are labelled “Restaurant – Mobile”.
