Manage Square subscriptions

Sellers with the account & settings permission to manage subscriptions to Square services and add-ons. Set permissions in Square Dashboard.

About Square subscriptions

Square offers subscription services where you are billed monthly or annually for all active paid services (excluding free trials). Currently, Square offers the following subscriptions:

Before you begin

You can view, unsubscribe, pause, downgrade or reactivate your subscriptions as needed from Square Dashboard. You can also manage your Square Online and Square Invoices subscriptions in their respective apps.

View your subscriptions

You can check the status of your subscriptions and trials with Square directly, view your bills and resend fee invoices emails from your Square Dashboard.

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Account & Settings > Pricing & subscriptions.

  2. Under Subscriptions, you can select an individual subscription to view more details, such as remaining days of a trial. 

  3. Click the Domains tabto view your domain subscriptions. 

  4. To view subscriptions for individual locations, click Main account and choose a location from the drop-down menu.

To view your previous bills and all of your monthly statements:

  1. Under Bills, select a date to view the bill for that service. Select View all individual bills to view bills for all services and dates.

  2. Under Monthly summaries, select a date to view the summary for that service. Select View all monthly summaries to view summaries for all services and dates.

To send fee invoice emails or download the PDF form:

  1. Under Monthly summaries, find the invoice you want to send.

  2. Click (•••) and choose Resend invoice.

Update your subscription payment method

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Account & Settings > Pricing & subscriptions.

  2. Click Update payment method at the top of the page.

  3. Enter payment card details.

  4. Click Confirm to save your changes.

Pause a subscription 

You can temporarily pause most subscriptions for up to three months. Pausing temporarily removes the paid features at the end of the current billing period. Your subscription automatically resumes after the pause ends.

To pause your subscription:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Account & Settings > Pricing & subscriptions.

  2. Under Subscription pricing, click Manage next to the subscription you want to pause.

  3. Select Pause subscription.

Unsubscribe from a subscription

You can unsubscribe from subscription services at any time on your Square Dashboard. If you remove any subscription service, including your free trial, we discontinue your subscription for that service on the first of the following month. You will have access to that service through the end of the current month.

You may also have the option to downgrade your subscription to the free version. Downgrading removes the paid features at the end of the current billing period and may result in losing certain product features. Review the product subscription information before changing your paid service.

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Account & Settings > Pricing & subscriptions.

  2. Scroll down to the subscription where you want to unsubscribe. 

  3. Click Cancel service to cancel or select a free version of the subscription (if available) to downgrade your service.

Reactivate a subscription

You can reactivate previously ended subscriptions. Reactivating may add on paid features to your subscription. Review the product subscription information before changing your paid service.

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Account & Settings > Pricing & subscriptions.

  2. Under Subscription pricing, click Manage next to the appropriate subscription.

  3. Click Reactivate subscription.
