With Square Point of Sale, the email address or phone number you enter to receive digital receipts is linked to the payment card used for that transaction.
Receive Customer Payment Information and Receipts
You may notice that a portion of your email address or mobile phone number auto-populates in the receipt field after paying for an in-person transaction with a Square seller. After you choose to receive a digital receipt via email or text message, our system securely links the entered email address or phone number to your payment card.
If you choose to enter a phone number or email address, we’ll pre-populate this contact information on the receipt screen during each payment. This way, the next time you make a purchase from a Square Seller, this process is much faster. You can also tap on the email or phone number fields to edit that information during your next payment with a Square Seller.
You can also look up your transactions processed through Square at any time from Square’s receipt search.
Flag Receipts Received in Error
If you receive a digital receipt detailing a transaction you do not recognise, click Not Your Receipt? at the bottom of the Square receipt or Don’t Recognise This Charge? at the top of the receipt if it’s the first you’ve received from Square.
