About resetting your password
Privacy and security are a priority at Square and your account security is our first priority. We want to help you stay safe so you can focus on what really matters – running your business, and helping it thrive.
Before you begin
You can reset your email from your Square Dashboard and send a password reset from your Square Dashboard or Square app.
If you’re having trouble with the password reset email, it is possible that you created your Square account using a different email address than the one you are entering into the email address field.
Double-check the email address you entered in the password reset field is the same email used to access your Square account.
Confirm the email address you used to create your Square account by looking through your email inboxes for emails from Square.
Check your spam or junk mail folder, because Square’s emails are occasionally sorted out by spam filters.
If you see the message “This token has been used”, visit Square Dashboard from your browser to confirm you are signed out.
Reset your password
- Using a web browser, go to squareup.com/password.
- Enter the email address associated with your Square account and select Send instructions.
- Check your email for a message with the subject “Reset your Square Password.”
- Open the email and click Reset Password.
- Create a new password.
- From any Square app, tap Forgot password? from the sign-in screen.
- Enter the email address associated with your Square account and tap Send instructions.
- Check your email for an automated message from Square and follow the instructions.
- Open the email and select click Reset Password.
- Create a new password.
