Square Celebrates Small Business Month with National Contest for Canadian Merchants

KITCHENER-WATERLOO - October 21, 2014 - Square, the company building the most complete register for small businesses, today announced “Square the Love,” a social media contest to help Canada’s small business owners connect with each other and share their most helpful business tips and what drives their success. The contest coincides with Small Business Month as well as Square’s second anniversary in Canada.
Square will award three prizes as part of the contest. First place wins free processing on $10,000 in sales from Square and a $150 Visa gift card. Second place receives free processing on $2,000 in sales from Square and a $100 Visa gift card. Third place wins free processing on $1,000 in sales from Square and a $50 Visa gift card. All three winners also receive a free Square Stand.
To enter the contest and for contest rules, Canadian small businesses signed on with Square should visit the contest webpage. The three winners will be selected based on the most innovative and compelling entries.
Canada is Square’s largest international market. About 20 percent of small businesses in Canada have signed on with Square, and Square recently opened its first permanent Canadian office in Kitchener-Waterloo.
