Introducing Square Loyalty: A Digital Rewards Program for Local Businesses to Keep Customers Coming Back
Now Canadian business owners, from cafes to barber shops to gift retailers, can automatically reward customers with Square Loyalty.
Toronto, ON - July 11, 2019 - Today, payments and point-of-sale company Square announced Square Loyalty, providing Canadian sellers with an integrated digital rewards program directly through their Square Point of Sale app—without any additional software or hardware on their countertop. Now Canadian sellers can boost sales by having an easy way to thank customers with rewards to keep them coming back.
“Canadian customers love loyalty programs and, in today’s competitive marketplace, Canadian businesses need an accessible and comprehensive tool that helps increase repeat visits to their business,” said Alyssa Henry, Seller Lead at Square. “We are thrilled to make Square Loyalty available to our Canadian sellers as we know customers enrolled in Square Loyalty return and spend on average two times more than other customers.”
Businesses across industries can create a customized rewards program with Square Loyalty that fits their business. A quick-service business can keep it simple and run a traditional loyalty program in which customers receive points from purchases to earn their loyalty reward or a specialty boutique can get advanced and offer multiple reward levels, allowing customers to bank their points to earn tiers or higher-value loyalty rewards. Businesses can track sales and see how many new and returning customers are participating in their rewards program all in one place with their Square Dashboard.
Square Loyalty also saves business owners time and effort. William Kim, the owner of VERONI & CO., an espresso bar based in Burnaby, British Columbia, says he previously spent time and money trying different ways to create a rewards program. “We’ve tried stamp cards and using gift cards in creative ways. We were also trying to keep track of who has rewards and what was redeemed,” said William. “Having a complete loyalty feature within Square Point of Sale streamlines the whole experience for both our customers and us. It is now a lot easier to give back to our customers that always support us.”
Businesses pay a monthly cost, starting at $60, for Square Loyalty based on each location’s total Loyalty visits per month. A 30-day free trial of Square Loyalty is available to all Canadian businesses.
