Get Rewarded when you Sign Up for Square with a Friend's Referral Link

If you have a friend who uses Square, they can send you an invitation to sign up from their Square Point of Sale app or online Square Dashboard. If you follow the link and successfully create an account, both you and your friend can choose to receive free processing for the next $1,000 of card sales or $20 off the purchase of a Square Reader for contactless and chip from Square Shop. Once you sign up with your friend’s referral link, you will need to process at least one payment of $1 or more with Square in order to obtain the referral reward, which you can redeem from the Account & Settings tab of your Square account. 

Note: For new businesses that sign up for Square with a referral link and do not choose a reward, the free processing credit will automatically be applied to your account.

View Your Referrals and Rewards

You can view your available and claimed rewards, share your unique referral link, and review free processing details from both your Square Point of Sale app and your online Square Dashboard.

  • From your Square Point of Sale app, tap  ≡ More > Rewards & Referrals.

  • From your online Dashboard, navigate to Account & Settings > Get Free Processing. From this page, you can also add your referral link to your receipts by toggling on Add your referral link to Square Receipts.

You can check your remaining free processing balance or hardware discount code in- app or from your online Square Dashboard. From the Referrals page of your Point of Sale app, you can click on an individual reward to view the hardware discount code or the card transactions that your free processing reward has been applied to. From the Get Free Processingpage of your online Square Dashboard, you can view your active rewards, the amount processed, and past rewards.

Note: For free processing rewards, you’ll see fee reimbursements grouped with each transfer. Free processing credits are only valid for 180 days. Once your free processing is finished, standard fees for card sales will apply.
