Square Online Reporting and Statistics

Note: Using advanced reporting requires an upgrade on your Square Online site.

You can review reports and stats related to Square Online in the Reports tab of your Square Online Overview page. This tab houses a wide range of data on various aspects of your website that can help you track performance and guide your business decisions. Learn more about each page within the Reports tab below.

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Summary, stats are divided into three main categories: traffic, sales and marketing. You can also review a summary of many other stats on this page.

Site Traffic

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Site Traffic, you can review your page views and unique visits for a specific date range. Use the menus to choose the dates, and the toggle to compare the data to the previous timeframe.

Site Activity

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Site Activity, you can review data on the number of visitors and the most popular pages for a chosen range of dates.

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Sources, you can review where your site visitors are being referred from.

Note: Traffic to your Square Online site can sometimes come from spambots, which constantly scan the web for email addresses and information. Since there isn't a way to prevent spambots from scanning a website, spambots scan virtually every website at one time or another. As far as these referrer stats, you are the only person who can see them (i.e. those stats aren't visible to anyone who doesn't have access to your account).

See below for more information on terms and meanings related to this page:

Page Views

Page views are counted daily, and each visit of a page on your site counts as one view. Thus, if a person reloads the homepage of your site three times, it would count as three page views.

Unique Visitors

Unique visits are counted every seven days, and count when someone who has not visited your site in the past seven days does so. For instance, if someone visits your site three times on Tuesday, once on Thursday and five times on Saturday, it would still count as one unique visit for the week. The unique visitors number should be smaller than the page views number since one person may visit multiple pages and generate multiple page views.

Top Active Pages

These are the pages on your site with the most visits. Your home page is likely to generate the most visits.

Search Terms

This shows which search terms visitors have entered into search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo to find your site. The more search terms you see, the better ranked your site is likely to be on the search engines.

Referring Sites

If a visitor clicked a link on another website to reach your site, then they have been referred to your website by another site. The more inbound links you have pointing to your site, the better your search rank will likely end up being.

Online Sales

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Online Sales, you can review a comprehensive look at how your online store is performing.

Choose a date range and compare sales versus orders, or view the stats for sales and orders separately. Scroll down to see a graph showing the percentage of page views that resulted in an item being added to the basket and the percentage that actually ended in a purchase.

Site Items

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Site Items, you can review the stats for individual items, and see which items and variations are selling the most. Learn more about adding items and categories to Square Online.

Abandoned Baskets

Note: Using abandoned basket emails requires an upgrade on your Square Online site.

From your Square Online Overview page in Reports > Abandoned Baskets, you can review how many sales you’ve recouped through abandoned basket automated emails.

Learn more about abandoned basket emails in Square Online to see how you can potentially recover lost online sales from customers who abandon their baskets before finalising a purchase.
