Preview, publish and unpublish your website
About previewing, publishing and unpublishing
When designing a website, you can preview your designs and publish them for everyone to see. If you need to take your site down for any reason, you also have the option to unpublish.
Before you begin
You can preview, publish and unpublish your site from your Square Dashboard.
Preview your website
You can preview any changes you’ve made to your site before you make them go live.
Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online > Online store.
Click Website > Edit site.
Click Preview.
In preview mode, you can copy and share a preview link by clicking Share > Copy share link. This link is for viewing a preview of your live site only and doesn’t make your site go live.
Publish your website
When you publish a website, you’re making the edited version of the site go live for people browsing the internet to see.
Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online > Online store.
Click Website > Edit site.
Click Publish.
Click the link to your live site in the confirmation pop-up window to access your site.
The newly-published version of your site is not confirmed until you or someone else opens it up in a browser at least once. To avoid your site not publishing, select the link in the pop-up window each time you publish.
Unpublish your website
Unpublishing your website means you’re taking your site off the internet and no one will be able to view it.
Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online > Online store.
Click Website > Site preferences.
Click Unpublish.
You can republish your website at any time.
