Rhode Island

Withholding Tax

To make Rhode Island withholding tax payments, you must be registered online with the State of Rhode Island Division of Taxation (DOT) and have a file number (a number the RI Department of Revenue uses to identify business tax accounts) and a Federal Identification Number.

  • Pay Online: Pay through the DOT to e-file and pay online.

  • Pay by Mail: If you choose to report quarterly wages using DOT’s paper form, you are responsible for calculating taxes owed as well as submitting payment by mail. Please mail paper quarterly reports and payments to:

Unemployment Insurance

To make Rhode Island unemployment tax payments, you will need to register online with the State of Rhode Island Division of Taxation (DOT) and have a file number (a number the RI Department of Revenue uses to identify business tax accounts) and a Federal Identification Number.

South Carolina

Withholding Tax

To make South Carolina withholding tax payments, you must be registered with the South Carolina Department of Revenue (DOR) MyDORWAY website and have a file number (a number the SC Department of Revenue uses to identify business tax accounts), a Federal Identification Number, Social Security Number, or South Carolina ID (SID), and your last refund or payment amount.

  • Pay Online: Pay through the DOR e-Services and enroll to e-file and pay online. Visit the South Carolina DOR website for information and instructions for setting up your account.

For additional information, contact the Department of Revenue Withholding line at 1(844) 898-8542, choose option 1, then option 3. For sign up/log in assistance, contact the DOR call 1(844) 898-8542, choose option 1, then option 1.

Unemployment Insurance

To make South Carolina unemployment tax payments, you will need to register online with the South Carolina Business One Stop (SCBOS). You’ll need to have a SC Department of Employment and Workforce account number and PIN. If the you do not have a PIN, you can apply for it through SCBOS to take advantage of filing online.

  • Pay Online: Pay through the SC Department of Employment and Workforce website and enroll to e-file and pay online. Visit the South Carolina DOR website for information and instructions for setting up your account.

  • Pay by Mail: If you choose to report quarterly wages using DEW’s paper form, you are responsible for calculating taxes owed as well as submitting payment by mail. Please mail paper quarterly reports and payments to:

South Dakota

To make South Dakota unemployment tax payments, you must be registered with the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation and have a South Dakota Unemployment Insurance Tax Account Number. If you do not have an account number, you can register for one on the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation website. You can make tax payments online or by mail.

  • Pay Online: Log in to the Internet Quarterly Wage Reporting System and follow the steps to submit an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

  • Pay by Mail: Write a check payable to SD Unemployment Insurance. Include your SD UI Account Number in the memo. Mail your payment to:

Tennessee

Unemployment Tax Payments

To make Tennessee unemployment tax payments, you must be registered with the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development and have an Employer Account Number. If you do not have an account number, you can register for one with the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. You can make tax payments by mail, Automated clearing House (ACH) credit, or by ACH Debit through the Tennessee Premium and Wage Reporting System (TNPAWS).

  • Pay by Mail: Write a check payable to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Include your Employer Tax Account Number in the memo. Mail your check to:

  • Pay by Automated Clearing House (ACH) Credit: Complete the Electronic Funds Transfer Agreement and use the instructions outlined on the TN Department of Labor and Workforce Development website.

  • Pay by ACH Debit through the Tennessee Premium and Wage Reporting System (TNPAWS): Visit the TNPAWS website for more information.

Texas

Texas Unemployment Tax Payments

To make Texas Unemployment tax payments, you must be registered with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and have a TWC Tax Account Number. If you do not have an account number, you can register for one on the TWC website.

To pay unemployment tax online, log in to your TWC online account and submit a payment using the Automated Clearing House (ACH) debit method or using your credit card (additional fees apply). ACH debit payments can be scheduled in advance of the actual payment date. Credit card payments can be made using American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. There is no charge for ACH debit payments.

Utah

Withholding Tax

To make Utah withholding tax payments, you must be registered with the Utah State Tax Commission and have a Utah State Tax Commission Account Number. If you don’t have an account number, you can register for one on the Utah Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) website.

  • Pay Online: Pay through the Utah Tax Commission Access Point website, and enroll to e-file and pay online. Log into your TAP account and click the “Withholding Action” links. Go to the “I Want to” section and choose “Make e-Check Payment” or “Make Credit Card Payment.”

Unemployment Insurance

To make Utah unemployment tax payments, you must be registered with the Utah Department of Workforce Services and have a Utah Department of Workforce Services Employer Registration Number. If you don’t have an account number, you can register for one on the UI Employer Registration website.

  • Pay Online: Log into the DWS website, and select “payments” from the menu at the top of the page. You’ll have the option to pay via check (using a payment coupon) or an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Virginia

Virginia Withholding Tax Payments

To make Virginia withholding tax payments, you must be registered for a Virginia Tax Account Number with Virginia Department of Taxation. For more information, call the Virginia Department of Taxation at (804) 367-8037.

If you are not registered, you can:

  • Register Online: Through VATAX Online Services

  • Register by Mail/Fax: Mail or fax Form R-1, Virginia Department of Taxation Business Registration FormEvery withholding tax filer is required to make withholding tax payments electronically. There are two options for making a payment:

  • Pay Online: Debit Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through eForms or Business iFile.

  • Pay via Financial Institution: You can pay via ACH Credit. There may be fees associated with this option.

Virginia Unemployment Tax Payments

To make Virginia unemployment tax payments, you must be registered for a Virginia State Unemployment Tax Number with the Virginia Employment Commission. There are two ways to register:
- Register Online: Register online through iFile. Visit their website for more information.
- Register by Mail: Mail Form VEC FC-27, Report to Determine Liability for State Unemployment Tax
There are two ways to make a payment:
- Pay Online: Make your payment online through Business iFile.
- Pay by Mail: Make a check payable with the Employer’s Quarterly Tax Report to:

Washington

Unemployment Insurance Payments

To make Washington Unemployment Insurance tax payments, you must be registered with the Employment Security Department and have an active Employment Security (ES) reference number and Unified Business Identifier number (UBI). If you do not have an account, you will need to register online through Secure Access Washington (SAW). Quarterly payments are due on the last day of the month following the end of the quarter (ie. April 30, July 31, October 31, and January 31).

  • Pay Online: You may use either Employer Account Management Services (EAMS) or ePay to pay your taxes. Be sure to have your Employment Security (ES) reference number, Federal Identification number (FEIN) and Unified Business Identifier number (UBI) ready. Follow the prompts to enter your payment amount and method.

Workers’ Compensation Payments

To make Washington Workers Compensation tax payments, you must be registered with the Department of Labor & Industries and have an active Account ID. Quarterly payments are due on the last day of the month following the end of the quarter (ie. April 30, July 31, October 31, and January 31).

Wisconsin

Wisconsin Withholding Tax Payments

To make Wisconsin withholding tax payments, you must be registered for a Wisconsin Department of Revenue Tax Number with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. There are two ways to register:
- Register Online: Apply with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue online.
- Register By Mail: Mail in the Form BTR-101, Application for Wisconsin Business Tax Registration
There are two options for making income tax payments:
- Pay Online: Access My Tax Account to initiate payments.
- Psy by Phone: TeleFile allows Wisconsin employers to file and pay their withholding tax using a touch-tone phone.
- Pay by Mail: Select option to print voucher when filing. Make check payable to Wisconsin Department of Revenue and mail to:
