Troubleshoot passkeys
This article provides troubleshooting steps for your passkeys if you are experiencing issues creating or using them.
Before you begin
Ensure the operating system and browser you’re using on your device are up to date.
You can use your email and password as a backup sign-in method.
Some troubleshooting steps may require you to sign in to Square Dashboard.
Troubleshoot passkey issues
Review common passkey issues to get help with setup and access.
If your passkey isn’t working after several attempts, it might have been removed or deregistered from your device or account. Remove the old passkey and create a new one to continue.
If you’ve lost access to the device where your passkeys were used, you may still be able to sign in using another device where you’ve previously used passkeys with Square.
If no other devices are available, you can sign in with your email and password instead. After signing in, you can create a new passkey.
