Set up Order with Google for Square Online
About Order with Google
Order with Google allows customers to easily discover and order directly from your Square Online ordering page using Google Search and Maps ― at no extra cost. Customers looking to place pickup and local delivery orders directly on Google can quickly go to your site from the search result to complete their purchase – keeping business directly between you and the customer.
By pointing customers directly to your site instead of a third-party marketplace, you cut down on commission fees and preserve higher margins on every order. You also gain valuable customer data that you can use to send marketing campaigns and encourage repeat purchases.
Before you begin
To set up Order with Google, you need to do the following:
Add or claim your Google Business Profile. Learn how to set up your Google Business Profile.
Publish your Square Online site. Learn how to publish and unpublish your Square Online site.
Accept orders from your Square Online site. Learn how to manage online checkout options.
Offer pickup and/or delivery from your Square Online site. Learn how to set up pickup options with Square Online and set up delivery options with Square Online.
Make sure your Square account is listed as a food and drink business. Learn how to get support at Square to change how your business is categorized.
Set Square Online as your preferred link on Google. Learn how to set your preferred link in the Google support center.
Step 1: Turn on Order with Google
If you have a single Square Online site and meet the requirements for Order with Google, this feature will be auto-enabled for you. If you have multiple sites, you need to enable it manually.
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Sales channels > Online > Sales Channels > Order with Google.
Toggle ON the option to sync your sites and all future locations to Google.
Toggle ON the locations you want to associate with your site.
With multiple Square Online sites, you need to toggle on the locations that you want to associate with each of your sites. Each location can only be associated with one site at a time, meaning you won’t be able to use the same location on multiple sites.
Turn off Order with Google
When you disable Order with Google for your Square Online site, it’ll also disable all future syncing of any new locations you create.
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Sales channels > Online > Sales Channels > Order with Google.
Toggle OFF the option to sync your site and all future locations to Google.
Step 2: View customer experience
When a customer searches your business on either Google Search or Maps, they'll see an ordering button on the search result that they can select to choose an ordering channel
They'll then be taken to a page that includes all available ordering channels (like your website's ordering page or a third-party marketplace app).
Buyers can choose to order directly from your website by choosing the Square option, which will take them directly to your Square Online site's ordering page.
