Use Dining Options with the Square App
When you’re ringing up a sale with the Square Point of Sale app, you can note whether customers are dining in, taking their items to go, or requesting delivery. Dining Options is available on Android and iOS devices running the latest version of the Square app.
For every completed sale, the selected dining option will appear in the following places:
Manage Dining Options Online
Turn On Dining Options
From your online Square Dashboard, select the Items tab.
Select Settings from within the menu at the top of the page.
Click Set Up Dining Options.
Four default options are automatically created when the feature is enabled:
Keep the default list or customize your options. The first option listed will be the default for every new sale.
Edit Dining Options
From your online Square Dashboard, visit your Items tab .
Select Settings > Dining Options
To edit, delete, or create new Dining Options, click Edit Dining Options > enter a dining option name or make other changes > then click Save.
To rearrange your options, click the three horizontal lines next to the dining option name > drag and drop the option to your preferred order.
Apply Dining Options In-App
For every new sale with the Square app, your default dining option is automatically applied to the current sale. To change the dining option for the entire sale, swipe your finger over the default dining option.
To apply a dining option to a specific item in the cart, tap the item > choose a dining option > tap Save.
Tips for Using Dining Options
You can create a total of ten dining options.
Dining options are saved to your item library and not to any specific device.
Dining options aren’t available for pickup orders placed from your online store.
