Create a personal event on your Square Appointments calendar
About personal events
Personal events in Square Appointments are designed to give you flexibility to block off a period of time to show unavailability for a personal event or a recurring scheduled event. When your customers view your online booking page, they will only see available booking times and not your personal events.
Before you begin
You can create a personal event from your Square Dashboard or the Square Appointments POS app.
Option 1: Create a personal event from your Square Dashboard
Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Appointments.
Click Calendar.
Click anywhere on your daily calendar or click and drag your cursor to select a block of time.
Click Create and change the event type to Personal event.
Add an event title (e.g., busy, meeting, available).
To remove booking availability during this time block, check the Block time box.
Select the date and time or check the All day box.
To create a recurring personal event, click Set repetition > select the details > Save.
Select the staff member you are creating a personal event for.
Add any notes and click Save.
Option 2: Create a personal event from your point of sale app
From the Square POS app with bookings mode enabled or from the Square Appointments POS app:
Open your point of sale app.
Tap Calendar.
Tap + and select Create Personal Event.
Add an event title (e.g., busy, meeting, available).
Select the date and time or toggle ON All-Day.
To create a recurring personal event, tap Repeats > select the details > tap the back arrow.
To remove booking availability during this time block, toggle ON Block Off Time as Busy.
Select the staff member you are creating a personal event for.
Add any notes and tap Save.
