Square brings powerfully simple tools to more Canadian small businesses through new partnership with CFIB

Jun 16, 2026

TORONTO — June 16, 2026 — Canadian small businesses know digital tools can level up their business. Data from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) backs it up: adopters see an average 29% productivity gain within a year. The obstacle isn’t skepticism; it’s access. Nearly half cite skills, time to explore solutions, and cost as the barriers keeping them from digital transformation.¹ Square and the CFIB are partnering to help bring powerfully simple tools to more small businesses.

Eligible CFIB members can access exclusive pricing on Square’s integrated platform, including point of sale hardware, as well as customized processing rates, making it easier to run their business.

“CFIB members own the neighbourhood businesses Canadians love, and they deserve powerfully simple tools that work as hard as they do,” said Nick Molnar, Global Head of Sales at Square. “That’s what this partnership is about.”

CFIB represents more than 103,000 small and medium-sized businesses across Canada and is dedicated to increasing the odds of their business’s success.

“Our members work incredibly hard and are looking for practical solutions that make running their business easier,” said Dan Kelly, President and CEO of CFIB. “Our collaboration with Square offers small businesses modern tools that give them time back, and savings that make a real difference.”

“We use Square to streamline everything, from the back of house to the front of house to the line,” says Justin Leon, co-owner of Lambo’s Deli in Toronto and CFIB member. “From the lunch rush to staffing to invoicing, we wouldn’t be as efficient as we are today without it.”
