    Enabling customer message notifications is crucial for businesses engaged in customer service or client interactions. Notifications ensure that you are alerted promptly when customers send messages or inquiries. This allows you to respond quickly, which is essential for providing excellent customer service and addressing concerns in a timely manner.

    Before you begin

    You can manage notifications in Square Dashboard.

    Your customer will receive messages to the most recent channel they used to contact you, whether through email or text. You can update the phone number or email on file for your customer if needed. Learn how to edit, merge, or delete customer profiles.

    Enable notifications

    1. Log in to Square Dashboard, then click More from Square > Messages.

    2. Click the gear icon to open Settings.

    Enable do not disturb mode

    1. Log in to Square Dashboard, then click More from Square > Messages.

    2. Click the gear icon to open Settings.

    3. Toggle on Enable “do not disturb”.

    4. Click Confirm > Save.

    Block a customer

    Square Dashboard

    1. Log in to Square Dashboard, then click More from Square > Messages.
    2. Select a conversation > click •••.
    3. Click Block and confirm.

    Square POS app

    1. Tap More > Messages.
    2. Select a conversation > click •••.
    3. Click Block and confirm.
