Fulfill and manage Square Online orders

How can I fulfill online orders?

Online orders can be fulfilled in multiple ways depending on business need. To learn more, check out how to set up:

Can I view orders from other Square apps?

Yes. When a customer places an order, you’ll receive an in-app notification, and you can accept and update an order’s progress as you prepare and finish the order. Learn how to manage online orders with Square for more details, or check out the Manage online orders with Square FAQ.

Order notifications and printing

Why didn’t I receive a notification when my customer placed an order?

Depending on your email provider, notifications will sometimes be filtered to your spam folder. Double check your spam folder and add the following email addresses to your contacts:

Can I send order notification emails to different addresses?

Yes. If you don’t want all of your online order notifications to go to your Square account email address, you can update your preferences in Square Online to send notifications to as many as three different emails. You can also completely disable notifications if you prefer not to receive any. Learn more about configuring order notification preferences in Square Online for details.

Will customers receive my customized digital receipts for online purchases?

When a customer places an order through your website, they’ll receive a receipt from the Square Online site only. Learn more about customizing email and text alerts from Square Online for details.

Note: You can also send a customer a digital receipt with Square at any time from your Square app or Square Transactions page in Dashboard.

How do I print an order for pickup or local delivery?

You can automatically print tickets for pickup and local delivery orders from Square Online with a compatible kitchen printer. To start:

  1. From your Account & Settings page, go to Fulfillment > Pickup & Delivery.
  2. Select Set up location or Edit to manage your location’s fulfillment settings.
  3. Under Workflow, select when you want your pickup and local delivery tickets to print.
  4. Complete all other details and select Save when finished.

If you print order tickets based on the pickup and delivery time, order tickets will print based on how much prep time is required before the order is due. If you print order tickets as soon as the order is placed, all order tickets will print immediately, even when the order is scheduled for a future pickup or delivery time.
