Bank Account Debits and Withdrawals

In the event that Square needs to debit your linked bank account, we’ll send an email notification to the email address associated with your Square account prior to the withdrawal and provide a detailed description of the charge in your transfer report tab on Dashboard.

Square may debit a bank account for one of the following reasons:

General account adjustment

Refunds

You process a refund but there are not enough funds in your Square balance to cover the refund amount.

Disputes

Subscriptions

  • To charge you for a paid service such as a subscription to Square for Restaurants Plus or Square Online paid plan.
