Edit loyalty programs

    You can update the parameters of your loyalty program at any time. For example, you can increase the spend requirement to earn a loyalty point, update the number of points required for a loyalty reward, or update the loyalty reward itself.

    When making changes to your loyalty program, ensure your customers and staff understand the impact of these changes.

    Before you begin 

    • You can only make updates to an existing loyalty program. Learn how to create a loyalty program.

    • You can edit loyalty programs from the Square Dashboard and point of sale apps.

    If you edit your program:

    • Changes will apply to previously-issued points going forward. For example, if a customer had three of five points and you changed to a ten-point program, they will now have three of ten points.

    • Changes to reward settings will not impact previously-issued rewards. For example, if a reward was originally 10% off an item and you change it to 20%, previously-issued rewards that haven't been redeemed won't be updated from 10% to 20%.

    Edit a loyalty program

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Loyalty > Settings.

    2. Under 'Earning Points,' click Edit next to the rule you'd like to modify.

    3. Under 'Redeeming rewards,' click (•••) next to the rewards you'd like to modify.

    4. Configure any other changes and click Save.
