Square launches new online store to boost UK SMEs
Today, payments provider Square announced the availability of Square Online Store for sellers in the UK, providing SMEs with one cohesive solution for their omnichannel or online-only business. This new offering is the first of Square’s products in the UK to be fully integrated with Weebly, the powerful platform for building a website or online store that Square acquired last year.
Businesses will have the option of a free starter plan (with no monthly subscription fees) and the ability to access integrated tools, including shoppable Instagram galleries, shipping, in-store pickup and more. Square Online Store will also bring extra functionality to restaurants, allowing businesses to offer seamless online ordering from their website, customised pickup times across multiple locations and the option to easily pay ahead for online orders.
David Rusenko, head of eCommerce at Square, said: “It’s crucial that sellers are able to reach their buyers on any channel, whether in person, online, or in apps. With the new Square Online Store, we’re excited to integrate Weebly technology and bring the Square omnichannel experience to everything, from retail businesses to restaurants.”
Omnichannel offer
Square Online Store makes Square a compelling omnichannel solution for SMEs in the UK. It seamlessly integrates with Square’s Point of Sale software to simplify all aspects of your business and keep online and in-person orders, items, and inventory in sync, all in one place.
Melinda Roylett, Head of Square in Europe, said: “This service significantly boosts our offer to UK SMEs and sets us apart from the competition. The Square Online Store integrates smoothly with other parts of the Square ecosystem, allowing you to sell to your customers, wherever they are.
“And with your items, inventory, orders and sales automatically synced, you can spend less time reconciling, and more time running your business.”
