Today payments company Square announced its new integration with Goodtill point of sale (POS) to give more businesses across the UK access to its tools and services.

Goodtill serves a range of businesses from multi-location restaurants to retail stores to give them access to functionalities including loyalty capabilities and complex inventory management. Businesses using Goodtill will now be able to process payments seamlessly using Square.

“Square is focused on forming partnerships with best-in-class companies to help meet the diverse and specific needs of the merchants we serve,’’ said Nick Harris, Partnerships Lead at Square. “With this integration, businesses can benefit from the vertical-specific point of sale from Goodtill and accept all forms of payment with Square so they never miss a sale and get their money the next working day.”

Square launched in the UK in 2017 and is committed to giving sellers choice and offering the best tools. In support of a diverse ecosystem, Square now has 40+ partners that provide tools that integrate with Square POS, including solutions for accounting & tax, e-commerce and inventory management - see the full list here.

With Square, sellers can accept payments from all major credit and debit cards with no monthly fees or long-term contracts. Square offers transparent pricing charging 1.75% per transaction for in-person payments and 2.5% for telephone payments, online orders and invoices.

Matthew Omeye-Howell is co-founder and managing director of Jollof Box, a quick service restaurant in Dalston, London serving gourmet African cuisine. In an appearance on Dragons’ Den last year, the Dragons thought Jollof Box’s food was delicious but chose not to invest. Matthew and his co-founder and mother, Sade Howell, ventured out on their own to open the business themselves with the support of tools like Goodtill and Square.

“The Goodtill point of sale works for the business because it is iPad-based which gives me flexibility whether I’m at the restaurant or working an event,” said Matthew Omeye-Howell. “I also needed an affordable and simple way to accept card payments and the integration of Goodtill with Square has made this possible. Square also deposits our takings next business day which helps with cash flow.”

Co-founder and director of Goodtill, Oliver Rowbory said, “Goodtill software is helpful and easy for merchants and by partnering with Square we are now able to serve more merchants without compromising on their experience. Integrating our point-of-sale with Square payment tools means a broader set of small and large merchants can utilise the tools they need to start, run and grow.”
