Disable Signatures for Square App Payments

To help speed up your checkout experience, the Square app allows you to disable customer signatures for all card payments or for card payments under $25. The options to skip the signature screen for all payments are turned on by default, but can be adjusted within the app.

Adjust Signature Settings

To adjust your signature settings:

Square Point of Sale App:

  1. Tap the following icon in the navigation bar: Three Horizontal Lines
  2. Tap Settings > Signature & Receipt.
  3. Select whether you’d like to Collect Signature for card payments. If so, you have the option to Always Collect or only Collect Signature Over $25.

Square Register

  1. Tap the following icon at the top of your screen: Down Arrow.
  2. Tap Settings > Signature.
  3. Toggle Collect Signature or Skip Signature Under $25 on or off.

Square for Retail

  1. Head to the Points of Sale settings on your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Select your device (you’ll need to update for each point of sale, or enable shared device settings).
  3. Under Signature and Receipt, select Collect Signatures.
  4. Click Save.

Square Appointments

  1. Tap the following icon in the navigation bar: Three Horizontal Lines
  2. Tap Settings > Signature.
  3. Toggle Collect Signature or Skip Signature Under $25 on or off.

Square for Restaurants

  1. Visit Point of Sale > Devices in your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Select your device.
  3. Under Signature and Receipt, select Collect Signatures.
  4. Click Save.
