About tax, fee, and service charge reports
Tax reports provide an overview of how your tax rates are being used, including taxable and non-taxable sales. Fees reports offer a comprehensive view of all transactional fees, taxes on fees, and the cost of taking payments. In service charge reports, you can view a report of transactions with service charges applied.
Square provides a tax invoice to you so you can fulfil your tax obligations to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). If you process any card payments through Square in a calendar month, Square will provide you with a tax invoice in your Square Dashboard on the fifth day of the following month. Your tax invoices are provided to help you claim the Goods and Services Tax (GST) paid on your processing fees. These fees have already been deducted from your account and are not outstanding.
Before you begin
Your tax invoice from Square specifies the amount of taxes Square has charged on your processing fees. This also includes taxes on Afterpay’s processing fee if your customer has paid via Afterpay. Square provides this tax invoice to you so you can fulfil your tax obligations to the ATO. These fees have already been deducted from your account and are not outstanding.
To track taxable or service-charged sales in your reports, create items with applied tax rates or service charges. For details, refer to Create and manage your sales tax settings or Get started with service charges.
Taxable sales may not add up to the total tax collected because some sales and items may have multiple tax rates applied.
In the Sales Report on Square POS apps, you can only view the total amount of taxes or fees for a given time period. For detailed information, go to Taxes and Fees in Square Dashboard.
Service charge reports are only available in your Square Dashboard.
You can print and export your tax and service charge reports. Fee reports can be printed but not exported. To learn how to print and export the reports, review Print, export or email your reports.

If you don’t see an invoice available for download in Tax Invoices, it is most likely because you didn’t qualify to receive one based on your account activity. A monthly invoice will appear in your dashboard on the fifth day of each month if you processed card payments the previous month. If, after the fifth of the month, your Square Dashboard doesn’t show a GST invoice and you believe you qualify for one, contact Square Support.
